Summary

Check how it reads outdoors first: the standard screen has no anti-glare coating, so it washes out in sunlight.

Strengths

  • Sharp 2944 x 1840 screen at 144Hz, measured at 411 nits peak by CNET.
  • Quad JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning hit a 97.0dB peak in PCMag’s testing.
  • Fast charging: 23% in 15 minutes and a full charge in 1 hour 20 minutes.
  • The fingerprint reader in the power key unlocks quickly, and the tablet can reverse-charge a phone.

Weaknesses

  • Reflective glass with no anti-glare coating; both reviews found the screen hard to read in sunlight.
  • The Tab Pen Plus charges on its own over USB-C, has no haptics, and can be knocked off the back.
  • Support window is two Android upgrades and four years of security patches.
  • The Dimensity 8300 sits below current Snapdragon tablets, so heavy games need settings dialled back.
  • No headphone jack, no NFC, no cellular radio and no water-resistance rating.
  • Face unlock stopped working for one CNET reviewer after he shaved.

microSD card
Replace: as needed

the only way to add storage, since the 8GB of LPDDR5X is soldered and the 256GB of UFS 4.0 cannot be upgraded; the slot takes exFAT cards up to 1TB, and PCMag calls it the one storage feature many rivals at this price lack.

USB-C wall charger
Replace: as needed

the included 45W charger is unusual at this price, but the product page requires a charger delivering at least 15W and at most 45W for the fastest charging, so any spare has to sit in that range.

Screen and outdoor use

The panel is sharp and quick on the eye: 2944 x 1840 at 273 ppi, running at 144Hz, with Lenovo quoting up to 400 nits and CNET measuring a 411-nit peak. GSMArena also lists HDR10 and IPS for the panel.

What the standard unit does not get is an anti-glare coating. CNET found the screen reflecting a table and a notepad even in shade, and PCMag called it hard to read in sunlight because of the reflective glass. Lenovo sells a separate Matte Edition with a paper-like coating, but no independent measurements exist for it, and the tablet CNET reviewed did not have one.

Two numbers get mixed together on seller pages. Lenovo’s own title calls this a 13-inch tablet while the panel measures 12.7 inches, and the 360Hz figure is a touch sampling rate for gaming responsiveness, not the refresh rate. The refresh rate is 144Hz.

Performance, battery and charging

The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 is a mid-to-upper chip that handles media and light productivity well. PCMag measured Geekbench 6 at 1,406 single-core and 4,204 multi-core, PCMark Work 3.0 at 19,029, and 26fps in GFXBench Aztec Ruins, comfortably ahead of the Galaxy Tab A9+ and the Lenovo Tab Plus. CNET put it behind current Snapdragon tablets such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but ahead of the Google Pixel Tablet’s Tensor G2, and roughly double the Pixel Tablet’s MotionMark score.

Gaming works if you temper it. PCMag ran Genshin Impact at maximum settings aiming for 60fps and saw smooth animation without slowdowns, though the area under the rear camera turned warm over 20 minutes.

Battery life depends on brightness. PCMag’s rundown at full brightness gave 8 hours 21 minutes, CNET measured 741 minutes, or 12 hours 21 minutes, at 50% brightness, and Lenovo quotes up to 11 hours of YouTube streaming. Charging is quick: PCMag logged 23% in 15 minutes, 44% in 30 minutes and a full charge in 1 hour 20 minutes with the bundled 45W charger. The 10,200mAh pack also tops up other devices over the same cable.

Speakers, cameras and software support

CNET found the sound largely agreeable but noticed audible resonances.

The cameras work but do not impress.

Software is the part to budget for. Lenovo promises Android 15 and 16 on top of the Android 14 it shipped with, which is two OS upgrades and four years of security patches. PCMag would like that window to be longer. Lenovo’s layer adds multi-window for up to three apps and a PC Mode with a bottom taskbar, and setup will offer to preinstall third-party apps if you do not read the prompts. The warranty is one year, mail-in, and Lenovo sells Accidental Damage Protection and Premium Care separately. GSMArena’s EU label rates the tablet repairability class A with a battery endurance of 112:43h over 1,000 cycles, though that is EU-market labelling and not a US durability claim.

Is it worth it?

At $289 or below this is the sweet spot for the tablet. CNET called it a proper steal at that figure, and it out-benchmarks both the $219.99 Galaxy Tab A9+ and the $289.99 Lenovo Tab Plus while adding a stylus, a charger, a microSD slot and a 144Hz 3K screen that they lack.

From $300 to $340 it still makes sense, with the Tab Plus lasting longer: 11 hours 50 minutes against 8 hours 21 minutes in PCMag’s rundown. Between $350 and $390 the value thins out.

At the $389.99 to $419.99 list price it stops being a bargain. CNET notes it can feel overpriced at $419 next to the RedMagic Astra, $160 above that, and both reviews treat sub-$400 as the ceiling for this class. Lenovo US listed the 8GB/256GB configuration at $399 (October 2026), CNET’s price box showed $399 at Best Buy (February 2026), and PCMag’s price widget pointed to $289 at Lenovo for the ZAE40136US listing (June 2025).

Budget for the extras. The Tab Pen Plus, the Folio Case and the 2-in-1 Keyboard Pack are sold separately, and CNET puts the keyboard folio at $119. A microSD card is the cheap way to add storage.

Which model this is

This page covers the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (2025), machine type TB373FU, in the US 8GB/256GB Luna Grey configuration that ships with the Tab Pen Plus. Two US model numbers appear: ZAE40028US on Lenovo’s own store and ZAE40136US behind PCMag’s buy button.

Do not confuse it with the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, a separate and newer tablet, or with the Tab Plus and the Idea Tab Plus. One GSMArena owner sees this tablet as a rebadged Moto Pad 60 Pro, and Lenovo’s own page title calls it 13-inch while the panel is 12.7 inches.

This page tracks the listing with ASIN B0HKJH1YZQ. Which retail configuration sits behind it was never confirmed, so match on the 8GB/256GB Luna Grey model number when you shop.
