Lenovo Idea Tab Pro 12.7 (8GB/128GB): problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-18

Summary

The complaints that keep coming back are the 400-nit screen in bright sunlight, stylus latency, the preinstalled-app prompt during setup, and the soldered 8GB of RAM with slower UFS 3.1 storage in the 128GB model. There are no consumables, so yearly running cost is effectively nothing beyond optional accessories. At $289–$329.99 (Lenovo.com, June 2025) it is a strong buy for a large 3K 144Hz tablet with stylus and charger in the box; at the $389.99 list price the competition closes in.

When it is a good buy

PCMag’s June 2025 review showed buy buttons at $329.99 and $289 at Lenovo.com against a $389.99 list. At $300 or less it is a strong value. From $301 to $360 it is fair-to-good against the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ and the Lenovo Tab Plus, whose battery lasted 11h50m against this tablet’s 8h21m. In the $361–$420 range the case weakens, and above $420 premium Android tablets offer brighter OLED displays and longer update promises.
