Keurig K-Elite Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-16

Summary

A single-serve K-Cup pod brewer with five cup sizes, adjustable brew temperature, Strong Brew, a dedicated Iced button and a 75 oz reservoir. Lab tests mark it slower to heat a first cup and lower in taste than newer Keurig models, and a decade of owner forums shows recurring leaks and clogged needles. Keurig.com lists it at $99.99 against a $209.99 list at check time, which is a reasonable buy for pod households.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

Yearly running cost

Ongoing costs are K-Cup pods at $0.40 to $0.80 each, descaling solution, and a water filter kit if you use one. Multiply the per-pod cost by cups per year to get the pod bill; the sources do not give a household total, and electricity use is not published, so they do not give a complete yearly figure.

When it is a good buy

Keurig.com listed the K-Elite at $99.99 against a $209.99 list in October 2026, Walmart at $149.99 against $189.99, Best Buy at $184 to $195 with colors sold out, and Consumer Reports’ panel from $139.99. At $110 or less it is a fair-to-good buy for pod convenience. From $111 to $140 it is fair. From $141 to $190 it is weak value for most buyers. Above $190 it is poor value. The K-Supreme Gen 2 lists at $169.99 on Keurig.com with a 74-second brew and 7.2 taste, so it is the better choice if you are choosing between them.
