Summary
A 2,042Wh LiFePO4 power station with 2,200W output, a ≤20ms UPS and a body light for its class, built for camping and occasional home backup. Check the 400W solar ceiling and the non-expandable design before you buy.
Strengths
- 2,042Wh of LiFePO4 storage in a body that weighs about 39.5 lb, light for the class.
- Quiet operation, with a measured 17W idle draw and roughly five days of standby on a full battery.
- A built-in front LED light with high, low and SOS modes.
- Simple controls, a readable display and app control.
- About 90% inverter efficiency in independent testing.
- Outdoor Gear Lab ranked it first of 14 power stations it tested.
Weaknesses
- No battery expansion: capacity is fixed at 2,042Wh.
- Solar input is hardware-limited to 400W, low for a 2kWh battery.
- Third-party solar panels need a DC7909/DC8020 or MC4-to-DC8020 adapter.
- At about 39.5 lb it is heavy to carry far.
- The Solar Lab measured only about 3,100W of short-burst surge, below the advertised 4,400W.
- Warranty claims need the original receipt, and retailer purchases must be registered.

Which model this is
This page covers the Explorer 2000 v2, model JE-2000D, the US 120 V version. It is not the Explorer 2000 Plus, the 2000 Pro or the older non-v2 Explorer 2000. The retail box is labelled “Jackery Explorer 2000” even though the unit inside is the v2, so check the model number before you buy.
The US listing for this unit is ASIN B0DFG2WDQH.
Battery, output and UPS
The 2,042Wh LiFePO4 battery delivers 2,200W of continuous AC output across three ports and a 4,400W advertised surge. Outdoor Gear Lab measured 1,740Wh of usable output, about 84% of the rated capacity, and a 2.5-hour full AC charge at 817 Wh/hr. The Solar Lab measured about 90% inverter efficiency and a 17W idle draw, roughly five days of standby on a full battery.
The UPS switches over in ≤20ms, fast enough for most appliances but not a true 0ms supply. Jackery warns against running servers or workstations from it.
Solar charging and expandability
The two solar inputs accept 16–60V and cap at 200W for one port and 400W for two in parallel. That ceiling is set by the hardware, not the panels, and it is low for a battery this size. Third-party panels need a DC7909/DC8020 or MC4-to-DC8020 adapter. Jackery lists charge times of about 15 hours from one SolarSaga 200W panel and about 7.5 hours from two.
There is no way to add battery capacity; the v2 is a fixed 2kWh unit. Owners in r/Jackery have reported the exact model cycling solar charging on and off every five seconds with SolarSaga 200W panels, and one poster said an app-delivered software update fixed it. Nobody has published a failure rate, so treat it as a known annoyance rather than a defect.
Running costs and warranty
Charging from the wall takes about 1.33 hours to full in Emergency Super Charge mode; The Solar Lab measured the AC input nearer 1,300W when that mode is off. Jackery lists a normal AC charge at around 2 hours.
There are no consumables, but accessories are separate: no solar panel, car cable or bag is included. Jackery sells carrying cases, DC extension cables, adapters and a car charging cable.
Warranty is 3 years standard, extendable by 2 years to a 5-year maximum. Owners report that claims need the original receipt, that units bought from retailers must be registered, and that the battery must be charged within 7 days of purchase and at least every six months or the cells are excluded. One r/Jackery owner reported a Jackery 2000 Plus failing with an F6 error and a replacement refused without the receipt.
Is it worth it?
At $800 or less the 2000 v2 is a strong buy: a 2kWh LiFePO4 unit with 2,200W output, a fast UPS and a light body, ranked first of 14 by Outdoor Gear Lab. From $801 to $1,000 it is still good value. From $1,001 to $1,300 it is fair, and above $1,300 it is weak for a non-expandable unit with a 400W solar ceiling. Jackery’s own store listed it at $899 in October 2026, down from $999, and its Solar Generator bundle page showed the standalone unit at $799 during a sale; Shop Solar listed it at $899 at review time. If you need expansion or higher solar input, the expandable Explorer 2000 Plus is the one to compare.
