Pressure cooking and air frying

Independent hands-on testing of this exact 8-quart model is positive but qualified. Tom’s Guide found the sauté program good, browning onions and searing meat in about 5 minutes, and a 35-minute high-pressure cook produced a tender meat casserole; steaming was the weak spot, because the official 3-minute guidance did not account for roughly 7 minutes of preheat and left green beans and broccoli soggy. The Kitchn had better air-fry results, with browned fries, crispy chicken and golden gnocchi, and found the lid quieter than other air fryers; Tom’s Guide judged its fries even but over-crisped. Business Insider, after testing more than 60 air fryers through May 2026, still recommends the Duo Crisp as a pressure-cooker and air-fryer combo, but lists slow pressure build, a slower-cooking lower basket layer and the many pieces to store as cons.

Size, weight and storage

The unit is large. One Reddit owner who moved from a plain Duo says the lid takes up a lot of space and has to be stored; the protective pad exists because hot lids cannot rest on every counter.

Business Insider tracked sales as low as $125 in the past year, and theconsumers.guide showed $206.79 in 2026. The honest planning number is roughly $200–220 at list with frequent sub-$150 sales. Recurring ownership costs are consumables: sealing rings, replacement baskets and trays, and descaler, all sold as Instant Pot accessories. At $150 or less the combo is a strong value because it replaces two appliances; from $201 to $220 it is list territory, where a dedicated pressure cooker plus a dedicated basket air fryer can fry better and clean more easily for similar money.
