Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A budget sit-stand workstation that puts a sliding keyboard tray, two drawers and a raised monitor shelf on a 55 × 26 inch top. Check which tray and height range your seller’s exact revision ships with before buying, because HUANUO’s own pages disagree.

Strengths

  • Two drawers, a monitor riser, an open cubby and a sliding tray keep the main top clearer than a bare electric desk.
  • Four presets recall sitting and standing positions without holding the button.
  • A rear C-clamp edge on the riser allows a monitor arm that all-board desks block.
  • The advertised 27.9–46.8 inch range covers most seated and standing work positions.
  • One owner hosted on HUANUO’s page calls the lift quiet and assembly straightforward.
  • The matching Target 55-inch black listing ran $229.99 in October 2026.

Weaknesses

  • The tray screws into particleboard loosened after two days for one owner, who replaced them with bolts and nuts.
  • Drawers are light fabric organizers, not rated metal file drawers, and carry no published load limit.
  • The desktop arrives as two joined panels, adding a seam and a lot of fasteners.
  • An owner of a different 55 × 24 inch HUANUO reported noticeable wobble at maximum height.
  • Seller pages disagree on tray size, height range and clamp lip, so the shipped revision is a genuine risk.
  • Target’s listing carries a 1-year limited warranty, shorter than HUANUO’s own 2-year electrical cover.

Which revision you get

HUANUO’s own pages and Target’s 55 × 26 inch black listing do not describe the same desk. Target gives a 24.4 × 9.8 inch tray, travel of 28.3–46.5 inches and a 2.6 inch clamp lip; HUANUO’s family page gives a 26.7 × 16.8 inch tray, travel of 27.9–46.8 inches and a 2.36 inch lip; an archived HUANUO panel lists a third tray figure, 26.7 × 11.8 inches. If a low sitting height or a wide keyboard matters to you, get the seller to confirm the selected configuration in writing. Model names HNESD44B and HNESD45B appear in related material without proven interchangeability.

Assembly and everyday use

The desk ships as a two-panel top, and the secondary guide shows a lifting frame with a motor and transmission rod, a drawer assembly and keyboard rails. Target’s page says tools are not included, and the box is heavy, so a solo build is inconvenient even though owners hosted on HUANUO’s page call assembly straightforward.

The tray is the part to watch. An owner featured on HUANUO’s listing had the tray screws work loose from particleboard after two days and swapped in bolts and nuts; other comments describe the tray sliding back or leaving too little clearance. One owner repurposed the tray as storage because the monitor ended up too far away. The drawers are fabric organizers, not file drawers. Related family comments also mention loose dowels and stripped holes in the wood panels from over-tightened fasteners, so use a hand screwdriver and follow the shipped instructions.

Stability and load

A separate r/StandingDesk thread has an owner of a different 55 × 24 inch HUANUO reporting noticeable wobble at full extension, improving close to sitting height. That is not this 55 × 26 inch two-drawer SKU, so it cannot settle the stiffness of this desk, but it is the caution to weigh if you plan a heavy monitor arm and long typing sessions at maximum height. Nobody has published a force-versus-deflection test for the exact model. Keep total weight, monitors and riser items included, within the conservative 132 lb figure.

Warranty, parts and running costs

HUANUO’s published US warranty covers the motor, controller and cable plugs for 2 years and the desktop, frame and other desk parts for 5 years. It starts at purchase, holds for direct or authorized-seller purchases only, and is void for misuse, overload, modification, improper installation and outdoor use. The maker pays shipment for covered parts but not labour to remove or fit them. Target’s listing for the exact 55 × 26 inch black SKU states a 1-year limited warranty, shorter than the maker’s terms, so confirm coverage for a Target-sold unit in writing.

Returns run 30 days from receipt on HUANUO’s direct sales, unused and in original packaging, with prior authorization by email to support@huanuo.com; Target gives 30-day mail or in-store returns. Support reaches support@huanuo.com and 1-800-556-0533, Monday to Friday 8am–8pm US Central.

No manufacturer-prescribed filters, cartridges or lubricants exist, so there is nothing to buy on a schedule. The lift motor draws grid power while it moves, but no model-specific moving or standby wattage was published, so an annual energy figure cannot be worked out honestly. Replacement motors, controllers, tray slides and drawer parts have no confirmed US part numbers or prices.

Is it worth it?

At $229.99 in October 2026 Target sold the exact 55 × 26 inch, 24.4-inch-tray black desk, below its $287.49 compare-at figure, and the walnut version showed the same $229.99. Treat roughly $190 or less as good value for a new unit with a confirmed tray, the four presets, complete hardware and usable support, and $190–$240 as reasonable if you specifically want the tray and drawers. Above $250 the value weakens unless the exact tray and finish matter to you.

Alternatives with different layouts: HUANUO’s 55-inch MCM Rialto is $269.99 direct with six drawers and no equivalent large pull-out tray; the Lumos 55 × 28 is $239.99 direct with a deeper, uncluttered top; a Best Buy 55 × 26 HUANUO with riser and drawers but no clearly identified sliding tray sat near $182.99. A Newegg offer of a related 55 × 26 inch, 26.7-inch-tray version is $449.98 from a China-based reseller, not a useful benchmark.

Which model this is

This page covers the 55 × 26 inch HUANUO electric sit-stand desk with two drawers, a raised monitor shelf and a slide-out keyboard tray. The exact Target black listing is TCIN 1011133837, UPC 840478895681; the walnut listing is TCIN 1011133832, UPC 840478895704. HUANUO markets related versions as HNESD44B, and a third-party manual calls a related 55-inch desk HNESD45B; the finish-specific part number is not authenticated, so cross-check the retail UPC and the carton label.
