HUANUO 55 x 26 Electric Standing Desk with 2 Drawers and Keyboard Tray: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-22

Summary

The keyboard tray’s short screws can work loose from the particleboard top after only two days, seller pages disagree on tray size, height range and clamp lip, and an owner of a related 55 x 24 model reports wobble at full height. There are no filters, cartridges or lubricants sold on a schedule, so yearly running cost is close to $0 plus a few cents of electricity. About $190 or less is good value, the $229.99 Target price in October 2026 sits in the reasonable $190–$240 band, and above $250 the desk is hard to justify unless the tray and finish matter to you.

Yearly running cost

No manufacturer-prescribed filter, cartridge or consumable exists, so scheduled spending is $0 per year. Grid electricity is used while the lift motor moves, but no model-specific moving or standby wattage was published, so a real annual energy figure cannot be computed. For illustration only, 100 W drawn for 2 minutes of travel a day, 365 days at $0.20/kWh, is 1.22 kWh a year, about $0.24 a year during movement, and this is not a measured value.

When it is a good buy

At $229.99 in October 2026 Target sold the exact 55 x 26, 24.4-in-tray black desk, below its $287.49 compare-at figure, and the walnut version showed the same $229.99. Treat roughly $190 or less as good value for a new unit with a confirmed tray, four presets and usable support, and $190–$240 as reasonable if you want the tray and drawers; above $250 the value weakens. Alternatives with different layouts: HUANUO’s 55-inch MCM Rialto at $269.99 direct has six drawers but no equivalent large pull-out tray, the Lumos 55 x 28 at $239.99 direct gives a deeper uncluttered top, and a Best Buy 55 x 26 HUANUO with riser and drawers but no identified sliding tray sat near $182.99. A Newegg offer of a related 55 x 26, 26.7-in-tray version at $449.98 from a China-based reseller is not a useful benchmark.
