Summary
HP’s base AMD configuration of the 14-inch OmniBook X Flip: a metal 2-in-1 with a Ryzen AI 7 350, 16 GB of soldered memory, a 512 GB SSD and a 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen. Only higher-end OLED and 32 GB versions have been independently tested, so check the battery-life and display findings before you buy.
Strengths
- The metal chassis and build are praised across reviews.
- On the Intel/IPS version battery life is strong, 17:59 to 19.5 hours in testing.
- General productivity performance is consistently described as capable.
- The active stylus is included at this price, which reviewers count as a surprise.
- Ports are generous for a 14-inch 2-in-1: 2x USB-C, 2x USB-A, HDMI 2.1 and an audio jack.
- Trusted Reviews called the keyboard brisk and tactile once you adapt.
Weaknesses
- The exact 16 GB / 512 GB / IPS configuration has not been independently tested; the reviews cover OLED and 32 GB units.
- AMD/OLED configurations showed poor battery life, 7:48 and 9:55 in two tests.
- Radeon 860M graphics are consistently described as weak, fine only for casual gaming and light photo editing.
- The zero-lattice keyboard is polarizing; WIRED reported hitting two keys at once.
- WIRED found the fan loud and frequent, and hit a Windows 11 system reset failure during testing.
- RAM is soldered, so 16 GB is the ceiling unless you buy a different configuration.

Which model this is
The 14-fk0047nr is the AMD, IPS, 16 GB / 512 GB configuration in Meteor silver, SKU B88A5UA#ABA. The fk prefix marks the AMD variant; the sibling 14-fm0047nr is the Intel Core Ultra version. Do not confuse it with the 16-inch OmniBook X Flip, the non-Flip OmniBook X 14 or the OmniBook 5 Flip.
The exact configuration has not been independently reviewed. Every outlet tested a higher-end unit, usually an OLED screen with 32 GB of RAM, so the display and battery figures below are not measurements of this laptop.
Battery life and display
The exact 14-fk0047nr pairs an AMD chip with an IPS panel, a combination no outlet has tested. The reviews split by configuration. AMD/OLED units reached 7:48 in WIRED’s testing and 9:55 in PCMag’s, while the Intel/IPS version hit 17:59 in PCMark 10 and 19.5 hours of web browsing in Consumer Reports’ test. Treat the exact model’s runtime as unknown; if battery life matters most, the Intel variant is the safer bet.
On the display, the base panel is 1920 x 1200 IPS at 400 nits and 60 Hz, not the 2880 x 1800 120 Hz OLED on pricier units. Trusted Reviews, testing the Intel IPS variant, measured 433.5 nits and color coverage of 65% sRGB and 49% DCI-P3, which it called subpar. PCMag’s OLED unit reached 400 nits peak and covered all three color spaces, so the two panels are not comparable.
Keyboard, fan and daily use
The keyboard is the most divisive part. Its zero-lattice design leaves almost no gap between keys; WIRED called it oddball, said it made touch-typing harder and reported hitting two keys at once. PCMag said it is not for everyone, and Trusted Reviews said it takes some getting used to, though once adapted the feel is brisk and tactile. Try it in person if you can.
WIRED also found the fan loud and noticeable given how often it runs. The included active stylus charges through a hidden USB-C port under a sliding panel, and the port count is generous for the size: 2x USB-C, 2x USB-A, HDMI 2.1 and an audio jack. Trusted Reviews called the speakers meagre.
Price and value
Pricing in the inputs is dated and configuration-specific. Windows Central reported an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 / 24 GB / 1 TB configuration at $799.99 at Best Buy in April 2026, down from $1,049.99. WIRED noted the 16 GB / 1920 x 1200 configuration at $900 at Best Buy. PCWorld reported a $1,099 launch price at Best Buy in July 2025, and Tom’s Hardware listed the line starting at $1,399.99 with its own test unit at $2,599.99.
At $800 or less the fk0047nr is reasonable value for a premium-built AMD 2-in-1, if you accept the IPS color limits and the keyboard learning curve. From $800 to $1,000 it is fair, and the Intel Core Ultra 5 variant is worth comparing for its better battery life and brighter panel. Above $1,000 it is weak unless you specifically want the AMD chip or the form factor, and past $1,200 it is poor value next to OLED-equipped machines.
Reliability and repairs
Memory is soldered, so the 16 GB cannot be upgraded; only the M.2 SSD slot is accessible and supports up to 2 TB. HP claims a MIL-STD-810H durability rating, and the warranty runs 12 months with 12 months of phone support. Consumer Reports’ member survey rated HP laptops of this price class meaningfully worse than typical for swelling batteries and slow startup speed, which is a brand-level signal rather than a finding on this model.
