Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A 23.8-inch 1080p IPS monitor with a 60 Hz native / 75 Hz overclocked refresh rate, an ergonomic height/tilt/pivot stand and DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA inputs. Check your room and your use before buying: peak brightness measures 221–229 nits, there is no Adaptive-Sync, and the 75 Hz mode is an overclock that may need manual enabling.

Strengths

  • Color accuracy out of the box is unusually good for a budget IPS panel (~99.5–100% sRGB, deltaE ~1.43 default).
  • The stand offers height, tilt and pivot, which is rare at this price.
  • DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA plus a 3.5 mm audio jack cover most desks.
  • Integrated 2 W speakers work for calls and background audio.
  • PCMag rated it an Editors’ Choice budget general-purpose monitor.

Weaknesses

  • Peak brightness measures 221–229 nits, limiting in bright rooms.
  • No Adaptive-Sync, so screen tearing is possible in games.
  • Some blurring in fast transitions; overdrive Level 3 is recommended.
  • Button-based OSD is slower to navigate than a joystick.
  • IPS glow and backlight bleed vary by unit.
  • The stand has no swivel.

Color accuracy and brightness

Independent coverage from DisplayNinja, MonitorNerds and PCMag reports good out-of-the-box color: default deltaE around 1.43, improving to about 1.03 after calibration, with roughly 95–100% sRGB coverage and 99.5% measured by PCMag with a colorimeter. Input lag is around 10 ms and pixel density is 93 ppi. IPS glow and backlight bleed vary by unit, and clouding in black uniformity was reported on some units.

Ergonomics and connectivity

Connectivity covers DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, VGA and a 3.5 mm audio jack, plus dual 2 W speakers that distort at higher volumes and are adequate for calls and background audio. The OSD uses physical buttons rather than a joystick, and there are no USB ports or other extras such as KVM.

Gaming

The 75 Hz figure is an overclock from the native 60 Hz, and on some systems the option must be enabled manually or via a custom resolution. Response time is 5 ms gray-to-gray with some blurring in fast transitions, and overdrive Level 3 is recommended while Level 5 causes overshoot. Input lag is around 10 ms. There is no Adaptive-Sync, so competitive gaming is not a good fit even at 75 Hz.

Is it worth it?

Value is strongest around $100–120, where the combination of IPS color accuracy, decent factory calibration, an ergonomic stand and DP/HDMI/VGA connectivity is uncommon at the price. DisplayNinja puts the monitor around $150, and PCMag saw it just above $100 against a $139.99 list price in 2021. Above roughly $150, faster 24-inch 1080p alternatives with 100 Hz or better refresh rates and similar ergonomics erode its case.
