Summary
An entry-level 24V brushless drill/driver with 400 in-lbs of torque, a two-speed 0-450 / 0-2000 RPM drivetrain and an 18-position clutch, sold tool-only at $89.99 direct. Check compatibility before you buy: the 2.0Ah USB-C battery is separate unless you already own one, and Greenworks 24V tools do not cross over with 40V, 60V or 80V systems.
Strengths
- 400 in-lbs and 2000 RPM top speed at a $89.99 tool-only direct price.
- 1/2 in. ratcheting chuck in a 2.7 lb bare tool.
- 2.0Ah USB-C battery doubles as a device power bank and shares a platform of 200-plus tools.
- Battery reaches 80% charge in 50 minutes.
- Three-year warranty on both tool and battery.
- Popular Mechanics found strong power, good balance and no performance loss after a five-foot drop onto concrete.
Weaknesses
- Chuck slip: one r/Greenworks owner reports the chuck slips a bit when tightening.
- Trigger pull felt heavy for delicate work.
- Purchasers criticized the small wall charger and the pocketless bag.
- Kit and combo prices were not captured on the first-party pages read.
- The 24V platform does not share batteries with 40V, 60V or 80V tools.
- Independent coverage is thin: one bundle review and one older-sibling review.

Independent test results
Popular Mechanics tested the refreshed 24V drill and impact bundle in December 2025: ten holes in 2×4 lumber, 3-inch screws in stacked 2×4s, deck repair in treated 2×6, and a mid-test five-foot drop onto concrete, with no performance loss. Its verdict praised power and comfort and criticized the trigger pull, charger and bag. No RTINGS, Wirecutter, Tom’s Guide, CNET or PCMag test of the exact 400 in-lbs model was found.
Owner reports
Reddit discussion is sparse but usable. One r/Greenworks owner reports a chuck that slips a bit when tightening. Other owners describe the 24V kits as quiet, low-maintenance and good value. These are anecdotes, not defect rates.
Platform and battery
The 2.0Ah pack is bidirectional USB-C, able to charge phones and small devices as a 12,000 mAh power bank, with an LED fuel gauge. Batteries are 24V-only and cross within the PowerAll line, which covers more than 200 tools. Buying the drill tool-only at $89.99 makes sense only if you already own a compatible 2.0Ah battery or budget for one.
The direct tool-only price was $89.99 at check time. No first-party kit or combo price was captured on the pages read, so kit pricing remains unverified.
Which model this is
This page covers the refreshed 400 in-lbs Greenworks 24V brushless drill/driver, model DD345 and DD345A3, sold tool-only with a 2.0Ah USB-C battery and 30W charger in kit form and inside drill-impact and drill-saw combo kits. Do not confuse it with the 310 in-lbs sibling (0-380 / 0-1450 RPM, 18+1 clutch), the 530 in-lbs hammer drill or the 800 in-lbs drill driver. The ASIN is B0F916XPT8.
