Summary
Check the height range before you buy: this frame bottoms out at 30 inches, too tall for some shorter users.
Strengths
- The 1-inch GREENGUARD Gold laminate top sits on an 84%+ recycled-fiber particleboard core bonded with low-VOC adhesive.
- Anti-collision sensing stops the desk when something blocks it; the feature is valued for protecting children and pets.
- The configurator runs deep: sizes, finishes, frame colors, handsets, powered grommets, casters, drawers, a CPU holder.
- Engadget’s reviewer says Fully’s customer service is even better than the desk itself.
- A long-term owner tells CNET the Jarvis was the single best upgrade for a home office.
Weaknesses
- Lateral wobble becomes noticeable above about 40 inches, and BTOD’s measurements back the complaints.
- Foot screws lack lock washers and loosen over time; BTOD recommends periodic tightening and threadlocker.
- White grease residue shows up on the columns after initial use — cosmetic, but annoying.
- At full Herman Miller retail it costs more than Uplift or Autonomous desks built on the same OEM frame.

Stability, wobble and noise
Wobble is a height story. Expect it if you stand at the top of the range.
Noise runs hotter than the headline spec. The under-50-dB figure is measured without a desktop; with the top on, BTOD logged 56-57 dB unloaded, 62 dB at 150 lb and 72 dB at 350 lb. WFHWorld’s 2026 update found the control box and dual motors smooth and quiet with soft start and stop. If your calls matter, treat the spec sheet number as best-case.
Weight capacity and the OEM question
Fully advertises 350 lb. The desk is not made by Fully — Herman Miller acquired Fully in 2019, the Fully.com store now redirects, and the frame comes from JieCang Linear Motion, the same Chinese OEM behind Uplift and other brands. JieCang rates the platform at 1250 N, about 281 lb, and BTOD calls the 350 figure reckless next to the OEM’s tested number. In BTOD’s load test the desk faulted at 380 lb, one leg stopping. Nobody has published a long-term failure rate at high loads, so read the advertised capacity as a marketing margin rather than a measured one.
Grease, foot screws and small annoyances
BTOD reports white lubricant residue on the columns after initial use — cosmetic, not a defect — and some owners see it too. The foot screws have no lock washers and can work loose; the fix is periodic tightening, with threadlocker if it keeps happening. The desk coasts about 0.5 seconds after you release the button, which is the soft stop, and the duty cycle is 2 minutes on, 18 off. Keep the columns clean and stay inside that cycle.
Herman Miller’s store lists the laminate Jarvis at $1,545; TechRadar’s reference price was $1,195 in April 2023, and a March 2026 sale took configurations to $896.25 (from $1,195) and $1,083.75 (from $1,445). Laptop Mag saw a $549 base model in September 2020, and Fully Supply quoted the bamboo 30 x 24 in at $600-850 in early 2025. Treat the older figures as context, not a quote.
Warranty is regional: the US covers the frame, motors and electrical parts for 7 years, tops for 5 and grommets or surge protectors for 1, while the EU/UK store lists 15 years on electronic and mechanical components and 5 on the tabletop for the Jarvis Hardwood. Check which term applies to your region and purchase date.
Is it worth it?
At a sale price like $896.25 the Jarvis is a reasonable premium buy with 7-year frame coverage. At full Herman Miller retail you are paying a brand premium over Uplift and Autonomous, which run the same JieCang platform. WFHWorld’s 2026 verdict is that the desk earns its price with materials and polish and no longer wins on specs alone. Want the finish, the configurator and Herman Miller service — it holds up. Want sit-stand mechanics only — the same OEM frame costs less elsewhere.
Which model this is
This page covers the Fully Jarvis standing desk with a 30 x 24 in Natural Oak laminate top on the 2-stage frame. Fully was acquired by Herman Miller in 2019; the desk is sold under both the Fully and Herman Miller names with identical product architecture. The Amazon US listing for this configuration is ASIN B09X4GZXDJ. Do not confuse the 2-stage and 3-stage frames — the 3-stage drops to a 23-inch minimum but tops out lower too.
