Summary
A compact single-motor sit-stand desk with a built-in drawer, three USB charging ports and four height presets, sold as the FlexiSpot Comhar 48 x 24 with a wooden top. Check the height range and the foot-level crossbar before buying: it bottoms out around 28.3 inches and blocks under-desk footrests.
Strengths
- The built-in drawer and three front-mounted USB ports are the most-praised features.
- Anti-collision behaved well in testing, including a full coffee cup during travel.
- The keypad gives four presets, a child lock and a digital height readout.
- An owner of the 55-inch frame reports the standing position feels stable for a laptop setup.
Weaknesses
- A steel crossbar runs between the legs near the floor and blocks under-desk footrests.
- The roughly 2-inch desktop rules out monitor arms and keyboard trays, which FlexiSpot discloses itself.
- The drawer is only 1.57 inches deep, too shallow for most mice.
- Travel is about 19 inches, which excludes the shortest and tallest users.
- Capacity of 99 to 110 lbs is tight for two monitors plus a tower.
- Owners report shipping damage, missing parts and slow support on parts and returns.

Full research notes and sources
Which model this is
This page covers FlexiSpot’s Comhar Standing Desk with Drawers in the 48 x 24 wooden-top form, page style EW8. The Amazon listing for the maple top is ASIN B0DKMJ819G. Do not confuse it with the Comhar Pro Q8 (dual motor, 3-stage legs, 55 x 28 bamboo), the glass-top Q3GW, or the Walmart variant with two canvas drawers.
Assembly and daily use
Once built, the single motor moves quietly, and Laptop Mag found it quieter than FlexiSpot’s EN1; TechRadar’s coffee-cup test passed without a spill. USB charging only starts after you touch a key, and it does not charge a laptop. The drawer suits notebooks, cables and a laptop but not a mouse.
Running costs and value
FlexiSpot’s own listings put the wooden-top Comhar at $259.99 against a $349.99 reference price (FlexiSpot, 2026). The same page values the Comhar Pro Q8 at $559.99 against a $699.99 list. FlexiSpot’s comparison blog priced the wooden top at $389.99 against a $499.99 list, and the 2022 hands-on tests saw $399 for wood and $454 for glass. WorkWhileWalking’s January 2023 snapshot put the wood top at $340 street; retailer widgets at the time showed Staples at $279.29, Office Depot at $449.99 and Newegg at $575.38. Casters cost $39.99 (FlexiSpot, 2022), and there is no first-party cable tray for this desk.
Reliability, support and warranty
The manual documents a duty cycle of 2 minutes on and 18 minutes off, a reset procedure for bottom-out faults, and four collision sensitivity levels. Owner-level repair is limited to those resets; no public parts catalog for the columns, motor or control box was found, and FlexiSpot sells replacement desktops. Owner reports on shipping and support are mixed: an r/StandingDesk owner found the bottom crossbar missing from the box in December 2023, and brand-level threads describe broken desktops, a motor that failed in under two weeks, and month-long refund fights.
Is it worth it?
Below about $280, the drawer and USB ports make the ergonomic compromises easy to live with for a laptop user. Around $280-360 it is fair; above $360 the case weakens against dual-motor desks that travel further and carry more, and at $449.99 to $575.38 the price no longer makes sense. Return the desk within the 30-day window if parts arrive missing or damaged.
