Summary
A commercial Freshpack brewer for offices of 35 or more, brewing sealed coffee and tea packs directly into the cup with fresh-milk frothing and fleet management for the break room. Check the service arrangement before you buy: Flavia directs all repairs to beverage distributors and publishes no US warranty terms, so a self-purchaser without a distributor relationship is on their own.
Strengths
- Each drink brews straight from a sealed pack into the cup, so there is no shared funnel and less flavor carry-over between drinks.
- Fresh-milk in-cup frothing with no machine milk path to clean or descale.
- One machine covers a 14-drink hot menu, from Lavazza, Peet’s and Alterra coffees to teas and hot chocolate.
- Automatic cup stand, touchscreen, touchless app brewing and Flavia IQ fleet alerts suit a shared office.
- Used packs eject into an internal bin, and maker-claimed brew times under a minute keep a break line moving.
Weaknesses
- Only Flavia Freshpacks work — no ground coffee, no other pods — and they cost more per cup than consumer pod systems.
- Every repair routes through a beverage distributor, and no US warranty terms are published; a self-purchaser has no documented service fallback.
- The documented fault cluster is mechanical: cup-stand sensor errors, pack door and feed timeouts, and barcode misreads, usually from dirt, condensation or a full bin.
- Nobody has published an instrumented test of this model, so brew time, temperature and froth claims stay manufacturer and vendor assertions.
- Sealed packs do not mean zero maintenance: daily tray, bin and sensor cleaning on a fixed schedule, and no vinegar descaling.
- A Chill Refresh review reports connection parts arriving missing, and one owner reports a leaking Freshpack bin.
Verified specifications
| Model | Flavia Creation 600 (C600) from Lavazza Professional, sold by office suppliers under item 18000565. |
|---|---|
| Power | 120 V, 60 Hz, 1550 W rated; some resellers round this to 1600 W. This is a supply figure, not a measured daily draw. |
| Dimensions | 17.1 × 12.1 × 20.1 in (435 × 308 × 511 mm); installation asks for about 3 in of clearance behind the machine for plumbing access. |
| Weight | 29.7 lb on the US sell sheet, about 32 lb out of the box per the manual; UK documentation lists 14.5 kg (~31.9 lb). |
| Display | 7-inch touchscreen with a free Tap N’ Brew app for touchless brewing. |
| Menu | 14 types of hot beverages — coffees, teas, hot chocolate and milk drinks; cold drinks need the optional Chill module. |
| Brew sizes | drip packs brew 3, 5, 7 or 9 oz depending on the pack; latte packs brew 7 oz; a 3 oz over-ice setting needs cold plumbing. |
| Brew time | the maker says under a minute per drink once heated; a UK vendor claims under 40 seconds. |
| Heating | two hot tanks heating water to about 201°F. |
| Water | plumbed connection by default, or jug filling with the optional Refill module (219.7 oz tank, roughly 31 cups of 7 oz). |
| Frothing | in-cup — you add fresh dairy or non-dairy milk and the machine froths it with hot water jets; a dried-milk Freshpack also works. |
| Cup handling | automatic stand with height sensors takes most 12 oz cups and some travel mugs; the drip tray removes for taller vessels. |
| Connectivity | Flavia IQ monitors consumption, sends stocking and cleaning alerts, and routes service requests to the beverage distributor. |
| Standby | energy-saving mode kicks in after about 4 hours of inactivity. |
| Packs | white-nozzle Freshpacks with a barcode on both sides; loose grounds and K-Cups do not work. |
| Maintenance | the manual says do not descale this brewer; care means filter changes plus daily tray, bin and sensor cleaning. |
| Certifications | ETL and cETL listed for commercial use; NAMA certified. |
| In the box | brewer, drip tray, automatic cup stand, Freshpack bin, power cable. |

Freshpacks and running costs
The brewer itself is $1,999.90 at Flavia’s own store (October 2026). Office-supply listings run wider: $2,057.07 at SIM Supply, $2,309.28 at OfficeSupplySource and $3,677.12 at Office Basics for the same item number (October 2026 checks).
The packs are the real recurring cost. Alterra French Roast runs $15.05 for 20 packs, about $0.75 each, or $0.72 on subscription (Flavia, October 2026); 12 oz coffees reach about $1.00 a pack (Lavazza USA). Scenario math, not observed usage: 20 drinks a workday across 250 workdays is 5,000 packs a year, roughly $3,763–$5,276 before tax, delivery, milk and cups; at 40 drinks a day it doubles to about 10,000 packs and $7,525–$10,553.
Energy is minor next to packs but not zero. At the 1550 W rating, one minute of heating per drink at 5,000 drinks a year implies about 129.2 kWh, roughly $25.84 at $0.20 per kWh — an illustration, not an all-in bill, since standby heat, pumps and the chill module sit outside it.
At $1,999.90, the machine works out to about $399.98 a year over five years — a bookkeeping horizon, not a documented service life. Flavia’s 30-day return policy only covers new, unused machines in original packaging, so a plumbed, used brewer is not returnable.
Error codes and daily upkeep
The manual’s fault list reads like a field guide to a busy break room. ERROR 341 means the cup stand: dirty or blocked height sensors, or a jammed mechanism; the first fixes are cleaning the sensor areas and checking under the stand and tray. A March 2025 r/Coffee user with a building machine reports the stand jamming constantly and the machine refusing to start even when they picked a no-stand cup position — one firsthand account, not a failure rate.
Pack feed has its own codes: 321 inject timeout, 328 eject timeout and 360 door timeout, fixed by emptying the used-pack bin, inspecting the chute and door, and cleaning hinge points. Office Barista’s July 2025 troubleshooting piece describes a packet lodged behind a released door; ejected packs can still be hot. A “Freshpack not recognised” message usually means a dirty scanner lens or a non-standard pack — only white-nozzle, double-barcoded packs are supported.
Two upkeep traps stand out. Removing the Freshpack bin resets the vend counter, so the manual and care guides say empty the bin before reinserting it or the machine can overfill and jam. And despite being a pod machine, this brewer must not be descaled: the manual forbids it, and water filtration plus distributor service replace the vinegar routine.
Cold drinks and the water question
The base machine is a hot brewer; cold dispensing needs the Chill Refresh module, about $300 (Flavia, 2026), professionally installed on a dedicated plumbed water line, and it cannot be paired with the Refill module. A separate older Cold Drinks Chill Module for Creation 600 listing sits out of stock, so don’t count on it at any price. One review of the Chill Refresh page says not all connection parts arrived — agree kit contents and installer labor in writing before paying.
Without a plumbed line, the Refill module (about $250, Flavia accessories, 2026, marked down from a $325 list) gives a 219.7 oz jug tank, roughly 31 seven-ounce cups. Either way, plan the water before the machine arrives.
Is it worth it?
Judge it as a workplace machine, because that is how it is priced. Under $1,600 new it would be compelling for an office already committed to Freshpacks and a service contract; $1,600–$2,000 is reasonable when the distributor handles setup and accessories; above $2,000, look at the $729.90 Creation 300 for a midsize office or negotiate a distributor-managed agreement rather than a no-service online purchase. A used C600 listed at $949 by a private seller (Arlington, Virginia) shows the discount channel exists, but availability, complete parts and freight were not verified.
For a small office that wants fresh-milk lattes, touchless brewing and fleet alerts, the feature set is real — but every performance claim behind it is manufacturer or vendor assertion, and one 2025 office user summed theirs up as “not too bad”. A home buyer weighing tested consumer machines at half the price will find the missing reviews, tests and warranty terms hard to swallow at $1,999.90.
Which model this is
This page covers the Flavia Creation 600 (C600), Lavazza Professional’s office Freshpack brewer, office SKU 18000565, announced for the US in September 2020. It sits above the Creation 300 and Aroma in the current Flavia range and replaced the Creation 500. The Amazon listing for this model is ASIN B0BMTPMNG9. No hardware revisions or color variants were found. Do not expect ordinary pods or ground coffee — only barcoded white-nozzle Freshpacks brew.
