Summary

An enclosed, single-extruder FFF 3D printer with a 150 x 150 x 150 mm build volume, aimed at entry-level buyers who want a compact machine that fits on a desk. Before buying, confirm which version you are getting, because the original, V2, Pro and Pro 2 share the name but not the same hardware.

Strengths

  • The build area is fully enclosed, so the machine can sit on a desk as a self-contained unit.
  • Connectivity covers Ethernet, WiFi, a USB stick and FlashForge Cloud.
  • A heated build plate rated to 100°C handles more than unheated printers allow.
  • The 2.8-inch color touchscreen runs the printer without a computer attached.
  • FlashPrint works on Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • It ships with an extra build plate, three nozzles and a starter spool of filament.

Weaknesses

  • At least four versions share the “Adventurer 3” name, and their specs differ.
  • No established independent test outlet has published measured print quality, accuracy or noise figures for this model.
  • Owner reliability and common failure modes are not established, so real-world durability is unknown.
  • The user guide itself documents nozzle clogging, and warns that non-FlashForge filament can cause clogs or damage.
  • The printer does not power off by itself when a print finishes.
  • The 150 x 150 x 150 mm build volume is small next to current entry-level machines.

Which model this is

FlashForge has shipped several machines under the Adventurer 3 name: the original Adventurer 3, the Adventurer 3 V2, and the Adventurer 3 Pro and Pro 2. They share the same 150 x 150 x 150 mm build volume and the same 2.8-inch color touchscreen, so neither figure tells them apart on its own. B&H labels the V2 as MFR #3D-FFG-ADV3V2 and lists the Pro 2 under its own product page.

The machine sold as ASIN B0DL5TR27W is an enclosed single-extruder printer in that family, but the exact version behind the listing could not be confirmed from a non-Amazon source. Match the seller’s photos and part number to a specific version before ordering.

Enclosure, size and placement

The build area is enclosed. At 388 x 405 x 380 mm (15.3 x 15.9 x 15 in) and 19.8 lb (9 kg), it needs a solid table with some clearance behind it for the filament path and cables. The power supply is built in: AC input is 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz, and a manual Q&A describes a 24 V / 6.5 A supply rated for 110-240 V, so the same unit works on US and European mains.

Specifications that vary by version

Do not assume one spec sheet covers every Adventurer 3. The newer user guide and the retailer spec list layer resolution as 0.1-0.4 mm, while an older manual revision states 0.05-0.4 mm. Build speed is given as a 10-100 mm/s range in the user guide and as a flat 100 mm/s by the retailer. The original manual describes manual, paper-based first-layer calibration; the V2 listing describes a factory-leveled plate. The filament-load target is 220°C in the original guide and 235°C in the V2 quick start. Build volume of 150 x 150 x 150 mm is quoted the same across versions, so it does not help you tell them apart.

Setup, leveling and maintenance

The user guide documents the jobs you will actually do: loading and replacing filament, removing a finished model, replacing a nozzle, clearing a clog and calibrating the first layer. FlashForge warns that non-FlashForge filament can cause clogs or damage, and the printer does not power off by itself when a print finishes. The hot end runs at 240-265°C per the retailer spec, with a 220°C preheat and load target in the original manual and 235°C in the V2 quick start.

Repairs, warranty and support

The warranty is a limited 1 year, per the V2 retailer listing. US support is printed in the V2 quick start: supports@flashforge-usa.com, tel (626) 322-3855, FlashForge USA, 17747 Railroad Street, City of Industry, CA 91748. Spare-parts availability and the service network were not established, so treat repairability as unproven rather than poor.
