Summary
A compact cordless vacuum for car interiors and small dry spills, with a 120 mL bin and a manufacturer-rated 17 minutes on high. The 13 kPa upgraded version replaces the older 12 kPa model, but independent tests of the new revision were not found; confirm the listing says 2,600 mAh and 17 minutes high if that is the version you expect.
Strengths
- Flexible hose and narrow nozzle reach seat crevices, door panels, consoles and litter-box edges (based on 2023 Automoblog testing of the older 12 kPa version).
- Convenient for coffee beans, laundry lint and crumbs; one-button emptying and exhaust placement praised in the same hands-on review.
- USB-C charging and compact storage make it practical for tight spaces where bulky vacuums are awkward.
- Washable filters with a dedicated OEM two-filter replacement product and published cleaning procedure.
Weaknesses
- Only 120 mL capacity means frequent emptying on floor-mat-sized loads.
- 2.5–3 h charge time for at most 17 minutes of advertised high-mode operation limits repeat cleanups; no verified ability to vacuum while plugged in.
- Filter must air-dry 24 h after rinsing; an additional clean, dry filter helps avoid downtime.
- No LED work lamp, blower or inflator on this specific Mate; some retailer descriptions mistakenly combine them.
- Pet brush on the older version frayed after one use in the Automoblog sample, leaving tiny rubber fragments; no confirmation the current brush is different.
- Manufacturer’s own headline weight and comparison-chart weight conflict (1.07 lb vs 1.2 lb), and old 12 kPa products coexist with upgraded 13 kPa descriptions.

Battery life and charging
The upgraded unit is rated for 17 minutes on high and 30 minutes on low, with a 2.5–3 hour USB-C recharge. The older 12 kPa version managed approximately 12 minutes on high in independent testing. No reliable new-version independent test of high-mode endurance under repeated sand or pet-hair loads was found. When the battery degrades, the unit cannot run while charging; no verified new-model passthrough capability exists.
Filters and running costs
The stainless-steel prefilter is reusable. The HEPA-type filter (HEPA 11 per OEM) is washable: rinse with cold water without detergent, air-dry 24 h, reassemble flush. Fanttik’s June 2026 guide advises washing every 4–6 weeks for daily pet-hair use or quarterly for occasional detailing, replacing after pleat damage, irreversible clogging, odor or suction loss despite cleaning. The older Automoblog report described a three-month replacement suggestion for the previous generation; do not treat that as binding for the latest unit.
OEM two-pack replacement filters were listed at $18.99 in October 2026 but sold out at the check (Fanttik direct). A Walmart marketplace four-piece compatible set was listed at $9.90 in October 2026; fit, filtration performance and whether it includes the prefilter assembly were not independently verified. At the OEM $18.99 two-pack, two new filters consumed within one year would cost $18.99/year before tax and shipping if available; at one filter a year, a two-pack averages $9.50/year. These are illustrative scenarios, not verified annual intervals.
No bags, subscription, software or paid cloud service. Normal ongoing needs are filter cleaning/replacement and a little charging electricity; none depends on a recurring brand service. No reliable dollar-per-year electricity figure can be derived without assuming voltage, duty cycle and utility rate.
Repairs and upkeep
The battery is not a user part. Generic USB-C power cables are sold separately but no proprietary cable specification or confirmed recommended charger was published. No reliable current-revision reports on failure frequency, onset time or repair cost for battery pack, Type-C port, one-button cup latch, motor or attachments were found.
Fanttik’s official US warranty promises 12 months free warranty for most products including vacuums; nontransferable. Returns within 30 days after delivery for an unused item in original packaging; buyer-change-of-mind shipping at consumer’s expense. Support@fanttik.com for return instructions. The 24-hour response claim is an advertised service target, not independently verified.
Is it worth it?
At $55 or less for a new, documented upgraded unit with manufacturer support, it is compelling for detail-cleaning convenience; $56–70 is acceptable if the small hose/tool format matters. At $80+, consider the Fanttik Slim V8 APEX ($99.99 direct) if blower and inflator functions are useful, or a much larger BLACK+DECKER CHV1410L (605 mL bin) if bin size and ordinary household pickup matter more. At $90+, the tiny 120 mL Mate is difficult to justify without a particular need for its shape. These are subjective value comparisons, not objective break-even prices.
Which model this is
This page covers the 2026 Fanttik V8 Mate Upgraded (13 kPa high / 9 kPa low, 2,600 mAh three-cell, up to 17 min high / 30 min low), sold in black and blue variants on the current US page. It is a vacuum-only tool, not the different Slim V8 APEX blower/inflator/pump. The older Slim V8 Mate (12 kPa, 2,000 mAh, around 12 min high) circulates under similar names; confirm the listing explicitly says 2,600 mAh / 17 min high if the upgraded revision is expected. ASIN not confirmed in sources.
