Summary
Clear cords and small objects from the floor first: obstacle avoidance is its weakest measured area.
Strengths
- Mopping measured in the top ten of Vacuum Wars’ database, with a combined score of 29 against a 20 category average.
- Vacuuming removed 89% of deep carpet debris and 100% of flattened pet hair, with no wrap from 7-inch strands.
- The 5-in-1 dock washes and hot-air-dries the roller mop, so it runs mostly unattended.
- Multi-floor mapping works, and the dock is shorter and thinner than most.
- One-month owners report clean hardwood, good cat-hair pickup and no clogs.
- T3 gave it a Recommends Award and called the body slim enough for most low furniture.
Weaknesses
- Obstacle avoidance was the weak spot: it cleared 15 of 24 test obstacles against a 15.7 average.
- The robot tries to eat cords; WIRED’s unit attempted to ingest two power cables.
- The drying fan runs for hours after each clean.
- The 4.4-inch body fits under less furniture than 3.8-inch-average rivals.
- There is no one-button vacuum-then-mop mode, and no detergent tank.
- Mapping can miss rooms, misclassify furniture and bump skirting boards.

Mopping and the self-washing dock
Vacuum Wars, which bought its own unit, measured a combined mopping score of 29 against a 20 category average and only 0.25 g of residual water against 1.07 g, putting it in the top ten of their database. How-To Geek liked the mopping too, crediting constant water application for fewer scrub marks. The dock washes the roller mop with room-temperature water, then hot-air-dries it at 50 °C to limit mildew and odor, and collects the dirty water. WIRED found sticky spills like cherry juice survived even a second pass, so set-in messes may need a manual pre-wet. T3 noted the cleaning solution is not in the box; eufy sells it for about $20.99 and it mixes 1:200 with water.
Vacuuming, carpet and pet hair
Vacuum Wars measured 89% carpet deep-clean against a 78% average, 100% removal of flattened pet hair against 82%, and 0% hair wrap with 7-inch strands against a 26% average. Tom’s Guide ran 20 g of Cheerios, 20 g of kitty litter and 5 g of pet hair on hardwood and low-pile carpet and got at least 90% pickup on all but cat hair on wood, for a 94% combined score and an 87% pet-hair score. How-To Geek measured about 95% pickup of crushed Cheerios, coffee and flour on hardwood in one pass. The DuoSpiral detangle brush is the reason the hair-wrap number is so low, and one-month owners report no clogs in the vacuum or the dock bag.
Navigation, obstacles and cords
Obstacle avoidance is the C28’s measured weak point: Vacuum Wars avoided 15 of 24 test objects against a 15.7 average. WIRED’s robot tried to eat two power cords and How-To Geek dragged a USB-C cable and wrestled a low metal-frame end table, so eufy’s own advice to pick up cables first is worth following. A Reddit owner reports hard baseboard bumping, a sometimes-unresponsive bumper sensor and a few drops of water leaking when mopping starts, while still calling the cleaning “excellent for the price”. Mapping is uneven: WIRED missed three rooms on an upper floor and marked a bed frame as its own room, and Tom’s Guide describes navigation as hugging edges and bumping skirting boards, though T3 found it confident and improving over time. The app has no one-button vacuum-then-mop sequence. Multi-floor mopping needs a second station or carrying the robot by hand.
Running costs and upkeep
Ownership is mostly the station and its consumables. Tom’s Guide lists extra dust bags at $17 for a set of three and cleaning solution at about $21, and eufy sells replacement roller, filter and bag kits. The app prompts you to clean and replace accessories, especially the roller brush, and to keep firmware updated; eufy’s FAQ also says to clear cables and small objects before each run. No long-term reliability dataset or official warranty duration for T211A was found, so treat the dock as the part to watch. The dock has no detergent tank at this price, so you measure solution by hand, and the station’s side flap must be clicked shut or the door swings open when you lift a tank.
Is it worth it?
Value depends on street price. eufy.com US lists the Omni C28 at $799.99, but How-To Geek saw it as low as $499.99 on sale (2026-03-30), Tom’s Guide lists $499.99 at Target and $799.99 at Best Buy and Nordstrom (2026-04-02), and Vacuum Wars reports $499.99 street against the $799.99 list (2026-08-28).
