eufy Omni C28 (T211A): problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-10-18
Summary
Obstacle avoidance is the C28’s weak spot — it cleared 15 of 24 test obstacles and units have tried to eat power cords — so clear cables before every run. Keeping it going is cheap because the 5-in-1 dock empties, washes and hot-air-dries the roller mop itself; the recurring spend is dust bags (about $17 for three) and cleaning solution (about $21). It is a good buy near the $450–$530 street price and hard to justify at the $799.99 list price.
Common problems and fixes
- Obstacle avoidance and power cords — Vacuum Wars’ instrumented test cleared only 15 of 24 obstacles, below the 15.7 average, and WIRED’s unit tried to eat two power cords while How-To Geek dragged a USB-C cable. Pick up cables and small objects before each run, as eufy’s FAQ advises. [2][3][4][5]
- Tall body clears less furniture — at 4.4 in it is taller than the 3.8-inch-average rival, though T3 found it slim enough for most low furniture. The robot needs 4.35 in of under-furniture height, so measure before buying. [4][7]
- No one-button vacuum-then-mop mode — Vacuum Wars found the app has no single vacuum-then-mop automation, so you build the sequence by hand in the eufy Clean app. [4]
- Mapping misses rooms and bumps skirting boards — WIRED’s unit missed three rooms on an upper floor and marked a bed frame as a separate room, and Tom’s Guide describes navigation that hugs edges and aggressively bumps skirting boards. Let it remap and keep floors clear. [3][6]
- Sticky spills need a second pass — WIRED’s cherry juice survived even a second pass because the dock washes the mop with room-temperature water, not hot. Pre-wet set-in messes or run the mop twice. [3][4]
- No detergent tank; solution sold separately — the dock has no detergent tank at this price, so you measure solution by hand, and eufy’s cleaning solution (about $21, mixed 1:200 with water) is not in the box. [5][6][7]
Parts and consumables
- Dust bags (3 L) — eufy rates about 75 days per bag; Tom’s Guide lists extra bags at about $17 for a set of three. Replace when the app prompts. [2][6]
- Cleaning solution — sold separately at about $21 and mixed 1:200 with water; not included in the box. [5][6][7]
Yearly running cost
The station empties into a 3 L bag that eufy rates at about 75 days per bag, so a typical year needs about five bags — roughly $17 for a set of three at Tom’s Guide’s price. Cleaning solution is about $21 a bottle mixed 1:200 with water, but no source says how much a household uses, and the station’s water and electricity draw is not published, so a full yearly figure is not enough data. [2][6]
When it is a good buy
Street pricing decides it. How-To Geek saw the C28 as low as $499.99 on sale in March 2026, Tom’s Guide listed it at $499.99 at Target and $799.99 at Best Buy and Nordstrom in April 2026, and Vacuum Wars reported a $499.99 street price against the $799.99 list in August 2026. [4][5][6][7]
