Smooth motion and setup
At 1080p60 the Neo shows less motion blur than 30 fps webcams, and setup is plug-and-play over UVC. Camera Hub adds manual focus, exposure, white balance, HDR and digital zoom/pan/tilt on Windows and macOS; those settings persist in onboard memory, so the camera keeps them on iPadOS and other UVC platforms. HDR improves light and color balance but drops the frame rate to 1080p30, and digital zoom and pan/tilt reduce resolution.
Low light and bright scenes
Independent reviewers found the image fairly sharp in good light but very noisy in low light, with cool and washed-out auto exposure. In bright or overexposed scenes highlights blow out. Low-light video shows grain and artifacting but balanced color. The 1/2.9-inch sensor is smaller than the MK.2’s 1/2.5-inch sensor, which offsets the brighter f/2.0 aperture.
MSRP is $59.99, down from a $99.99 launch price. At that price it is a reasonable budget buy for 1080p60 with autofocus, HDR, a privacy shutter and Camera Hub controls, if you accept no microphone and noisy low-light video. At $79.99 to $99.99 value is fair to weak: reviewers preferred the Obsbot Tiny SE at $79 for better image quality, a microphone and mechanical tracking. Above $99.99 it is weak value for a 1080p60 webcam without a microphone. A separate microphone is effectively required; Elgato’s Wave Neo microphone costs $90, more than the webcam.
