Summary
A four-chamber, AMS-mounted filament dryer for Bambu Lab AMS 1 and AMS 2 Pro owners who keep mixed materials loaded, with per-chamber 60 W heaters, a 20–65 °C range and RH 10–99% humidity control. Check compatibility before buying: it only fits those two AMS models, the AMS 2 Pro needs a self-printed adapter, and the 65 °C ceiling will not suit jobs needing hotter drying.
Strengths
- Four independent chambers let mixed materials in one AMS dry to different targets at the same time.
- Print-while-drying keeps jobs running during a drying cycle.
- Dual-stage drying with automatic humidity maintenance after the cycle ends.
- Store reviewers report easy picture-based assembly, quiet operation and stable humidity control.
- Improved PETG and ASA print results are reported by store reviewers.
- GoodPrints3D identifies mixed-material AMS owners as the clearest fit.
Weaknesses
- The 65 °C ceiling excludes jobs that need hotter drying.
- Only fits AMS 1 and AMS 2 Pro; AMS Lite owners and users without a compatible AMS are out.
- The AMS 2 Pro needs a self-printed adapter, and one owner reports poorly machined acrylic baffles, a broken baffle, missing mounting holes and initially unresponsive customer service that later replied on the forum asking for an order number by email.
- Cross-chamber thermal crosstalk is documented by the manufacturer, not independently verified.
- Temperature and humidity readings are sensor-location values, not filament or chamber averages.
- No independent instrumented test of temperature accuracy, drying time or noise was found.

Compatibility and installation
Tetras is an AMS upgrade, not a universal dryer. Installation replaces the AMS top cover and foot pads and takes about 10–20 minutes. The AMS 2 Pro needs a self-printed adapter, and Type-C cables must be matched to the Screen, Power and Control ports or the unit will not start or will form unintended control groups. The manufacturer notes that third-party accessories such as a BIQU Panda Pad may obstruct one or two screens. The unit is not wide-voltage: separate 110 V and 220 V input versions exist, so the regional variant must match the mains supply.
Drying performance and controls
Each chamber has its own 60 W heater, with Low, Medium and High power levels and preset profiles for PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU plus custom M1 and M2 slots. The 65 °C ceiling is deliberate: the manufacturer cites the Bambu Lab spool label requirement that drying temperature stay below 70 °C. Drying runs from 30 minutes to 24 hours, with unlimited time in the second stage, and the unit switches to humidity mode afterwards to hold the preset RH. Cross-chamber behaviour is manufacturer-tested only. The screens have a 60–130 degree viewing angle, independently adjustable per screen, and the lid opens 80 degrees (80–85 in the FAQ). Fan and sensor faults show on screen, and temperature calibration is available by holding the OPTION button.
Owner reports and build quality
A detailed 3DWithUs assembly report describes rough, poorly machined acrylic baffles, parts about 1 mm too wide, a sharp slot that broke a baffle, and missing AMS 2 Pro mounting holes. A Japanese owner write-up reports missing or unexpected parts. Generic Eibos dryer cautions apply here too: cardboard spools add dust and fit problems, drying does not replace sealed storage, and bench space matters. Repairability is partly supported by iFixit guides and the manufacturer’s manual and adapter print files, but spare acrylic parts from EIBOS are not documented. Warranty terms and length were not found; only a support email is provided.
Running costs
Electricity is the main recurring cost: up to 240 W when all four chambers run, with no consumables, capsule lock-in or desiccant required. EIBOS’s own store lists the Tetras at $199.99, down from a $219.99 regular price, with the two-chamber Dyas at $129.99 (EIBOS store, 2026). Shipping is calculated at checkout, and regional warehouse variants are listed at the same price.
Is it worth it?
At about $200 direct, Tetras is a specialised AMS upgrade; value depends on whether mixed materials stay loaded in a compatible AMS. It suits original AMS owners with mixed loaded materials, and AMS 2 Pro owners willing to print and verify the adapter. It is a weaker buy for AMS Lite owners, users without a compatible AMS, mostly-PLA users with working sealed storage, spools larger than 205 × 68 mm, or jobs needing above 65 °C. For comparison, the SUNLU S4 is a standalone four-spool dryer with a 70 °C ceiling, and the EIBOS Polyphemus handles spools up to 3 kg with an 80 °C ceiling (current listings).
Which model this is
This page covers the EIBOS Filament Dryer Series X: TETRAS, the four-chamber model. Do not confuse it with the two-chamber Dyas (120 W, 3.0 kg net), the larger Polyphemus (up to 3 kg spools, 80 °C ceiling), the single-spool Series X: Easdry, or Cyclopes.
