Summary

A 1024Wh LiFePO4 portable power station with 1800W AC output and fast charging, expandable from 1 to 5 kWh with EcoFlow extra batteries. Check the outlets before you buy: only three of the six AC sockets are grounded.

Strengths

  • Charges from 0 to 80% in about an hour on AC.
  • Expands from 1 to 5 kWh with cross-compatible EcoFlow batteries.
  • Independent testing measured 870Wh of usable output from the 1024Wh pack.
  • A 5-year warranty is competitive at this price.
  • Readable LCD and app control over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • Several recharge paths: AC, solar, car socket and combined AC-plus-solar.

Weaknesses

  • Only three of the six AC outlets are grounded, which rules out some appliances.
  • Owners report pass-through battery drain and occasional early shutdowns, though no failure rate is published.
  • EcoFlow support draws repeated complaints about slow RMA handling.
  • X-Boost lowers voltage, so heating appliances run a little cooler than on wall power.
  • At about 28.1 lb there is no folding handle, only grip points.
  • No built-in light.

Charging speed

EcoFlow advertises 0-80% in about 60 minutes on AC and a full charge in roughly 1.5 hours, and 56 minutes to full when AC and solar are combined at 1500W. Outdoor Gear Lab measured a full charge in 50 minutes at an average 1299 Wh/hr, faster than the advertised figure. The catch is the taper: the last 20% takes far longer than the first 80%, so the headline flatters short top-ups rather than deep cycles.

Outputs and what it runs

The 1800W continuous inverter with 3600W surge covers most household essentials, and X-Boost pushes it to 2200W for high-draw tools and appliances. It does that by lowering voltage, so a heater or kettle produces slightly less heat than it would on wall power. The port count is generous but uneven: 6 AC outlets, 2 USB-C at 100W PD, 2 USB-A, a 12V/10A car socket and a DC5521. Three of those six AC outlets are two-prong only, so anything needing a ground connection will not work. There is no built-in light and no folding handle, just grip points.

Expandability and running costs

The DELTA 3 expands from 1 to 5 kWh with EcoFlow extra batteries, and the cells are rated for 4000 cycles to 80%. Core use needs no subscription. EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3 at $599 on its US store, against a $699 list price, and the DELTA 3 Series Smart Extra Battery is $389 for 2048Wh. The separate DELTA 3 Classic is a different, cheaper machine: $449 with a $599 MSRP, no expansion and fewer ports.

Reliability and support

Reliability is the softer part of the picture. Owners report pass-through drain, where the battery empties during bypass mode; EcoFlow support has told at least one owner this is normal because internal components draw from the battery. Others report early shutdowns, including a unit that cut out at 77% and would not turn on with an extra battery attached, and error codes 469 and 303 on a unit that stopped accepting an AC charge after a full drain. EcoFlow’s customer service draws consistent complaints about slow or absent RMA follow-up. No source quantifies how common any of this is, so treat these as recurring signals rather than a defect rate.

Is it worth it?

At $599 direct from EcoFlow, the DELTA 3 stands on fast charging, expandability and a 5-year warranty. The nearest alternatives the sources cite are the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 at $559 and the Bluetti AC180 at $499, neither with the same expansion path. If you need to grow capacity over time, the DELTA 3 makes sense; if you want more watt-hours for less and do not need expansion, those rivals are worth a look. Above $600 the value thins out, with larger units sitting in the $700-1000 range.

Which model this is

This page covers the DELTA 3 Portable Power Station, model series EF-DL3, with a 1024Wh LiFePO4 battery and 1800W AC output. Do not confuse it with the DELTA 3 Plus, DELTA 3 Max or DELTA 3 Ultra, or with the cheaper DELTA 3 Classic (model EF-DL3-C), which is not expandable and has fewer ports. The US listing carries ASIN B0DCBYMC9D.
