Summary
A compact 1500 W PTC ceramic heater with 70° oscillation, a digital thermostat, ECO control, remote and timer, made for targeted small-room heat. Check the filter and placement first: dust at the inlet cuts heat, and oscillation clicking is a known annoyance.
Strengths
- 70° oscillation spreads heat across a desk or bed.
- A 1°F thermostat is rare at this price.
- ECO mode cycles output around the target temperature.
- Remote, 12-hour timer and washable filter are included.
- Compact and light at about 3.8 lb, with a hidden carry design.
- Low fan noise for a ceramic fan heater.
Weaknesses
- Owners report occasional oscillation clicking or grinding.
- Dust at the inlet or filter reduces heat and airflow.
- Closed-loop temperature control is mainly an ECO behavior.
- High setting is more audible, and build quality draws some criticism.
- It is a small-room heater, not a whole-home solution.
- No official internal-parts catalog for out-of-warranty repair.

Oscillation and placement
The 70° sweep is the reason to pick this over a fixed personal heater: it spreads heat across a desk or bedroom instead of concentrating it in one spot. The trade is mechanical. Owner reports describe occasional clicking or grinding, and DREO’s support documentation has a dedicated remedy for cracking noise, suggesting a stable surface and lubricating the base. That makes it a known troubleshooting category rather than a proven defect.
Filter and upkeep
A clogged inlet or filter is the most common cause of weak heat, and DREO itself points owners there before assuming a failure. The rear filter detaches, washes and reuses, so there is no recurring filter bill; DREO recommends cleaning at least once during the season and before off-season storage. Maintenance is basic: unplug and cool the unit, wipe the exterior, and keep the inlet and outlet clear.
Running cost and power
A 1500 W heater is a heavy load on a 120 V circuit, drawing about 12.5 A at full output. DREO advises against extension cords, and reports of tripped power strips or circuits are consistent with the load rather than a defect. At full draw the heater consumes 1.5 kWh per hour; ECO reduces the duty cycle after the setpoint is reached, so electricity rates matter far more to lifetime cost than the purchase price.
Reliability and controls
DREO documents E1 and E2 temperature-sensor faults and stops heating on overheat, but no failure rate is available, and no long-term exact-model data exists despite the model’s large review footprint. The warranty is 12 months, and registration can extend it. On controls, some owners find the display timeout or faint status and the mode-dependent buttons hard to read, but the thermostat, timer and remote cover the basics.
Is it worth it?
Buy it on sale. Around the normal direct price it is a good balance if you specifically want oscillation, digital setpoint control, a remote and a timer in a compact heater. Lower down it becomes very good value, and well below that it is an excellent deal. Above the mid range, compare newer DREO models and other 1500 W oscillating heaters, and ignore marketplace scarcity pricing.
