Summary
A corded 3.5 A oscillating multi-tool kit for DIY and home renovation, with a tool-less accessory change and a two-year warranty. Check the on/off switch on the unit you get: several owners report it breaking off or going stiff.
Strengths
- Tool-less Quick Fit accessory changes are fast and need no wrench.
- The separate on/off switch remembers the speed you set.
- The padded grip keeps felt vibration low at the top speed.
- It works well in tight spaces and below-ground-level cuts.
- Owners call it solid, heavy duty and quieter than older Dremels.
Weaknesses
- Multiple owners report an on/off switch that broke off after one job or went stiff.
- The accessory interface is proprietary; older Dremel blades and third-party blades need an adapter.
- Owners say the blades and sanding pads wear out quickly.
- No instrumented independent test of this exact model was found.
- At $100 or more, cordless tools and Dremel’s own MM50 and MM20V compete on price.
- Dremel’s own pages disagree on top speed and dimensions.

Accessory fit and consumables
The Quick Fit clamp is the selling point: you swap blades without a wrench. But the interface is Dremel-specific. Older Multi-Max blades do not fit the MM35, and universal or other-brand blades need an adapter, which owners mention as friction. Dremel sells its own “Universal” fit blades (MM450U, MM494U, MM480XU) for the line, but those are Dremel accessories, not proof that third-party blades fit. Owners also report that blades and sanding pads wear out quickly, so budget for consumables.
The on/off switch
The strongest owner complaint cluster is the power switch. One reviewer says it broke off after a single drywall cut on a tool under a year old, with the blue button ejecting and the tool unable to be turned off. Another returned the tool because the switch was hard to turn, and says store staff called it a recurrent complaint and said the store had stopped ordering it. Dremel has not published a response. Nobody has published a failure rate, so treat this as a known annoyance and check the switch before you buy.
Testing and evidence
No instrumented test of the MM35-02 from RTINGS, Wirecutter, Tom’s Guide, CNET or PCMag was found. Pro Tool Reviews names it the pick for DIY or home renovation but treats it as buying-guide commentary, not a scored test.
Dremel’s US page listed $79.99 at check time and Home Depot listed $89.97, with a $25 cardholder discount bringing it to $64.97; the tool launched in September 2018 at a $99.99 MSRP. At $80–90 it is a reasonable corded DIY pick. At $100 or more, cordless competitors and Dremel’s own MM50 and MM20V are the same money, and the value weakens. Pro Tool Reviews put the kit around $99 in 2022, with a $90 listing at Acme Tools.
Which model this is
This page covers the MM35-02 kit, the entry corded model in Dremel’s three-tool Multi-Max line. The Amazon listing for this model is ASIN B0CZV35YGZ. Do not merge it with the older MM30 (3.3 A, up to 23,000 OPM), the MM40 or MM45, the 5 A MM50, the 17-piece MM35-05 kit, or the cordless MM20V; Dremel lists these as distinct products.
Is it worth it?
At $80–90 the MM35-02 is a solid corded DIY tool: fast accessory changes, a two-year warranty, a 7 ft cord and enough power for finishing, grout and drywall. The switch complaints are a real but unquantified risk. Above $100 it is a clearance-style buy, with cordless tools and Dremel’s own upgrades at the same money.
