Dell 24 240Hz Monitor SE2426HG: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-17

Summary

An entry-level 23.8-inch 1080p 240Hz Fast IPS gaming monitor with low input lag at any refresh rate and a consistently fast response time, held back by inverse ghosting at low refresh rates, low contrast, muted HDR and a tilt-only stand with no speakers. The only running cost is electricity, about 14 W in on mode. There is no US price to anchor value; the non-US anchors are about $106 at the China launch and CAD 139.99 in Canada.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

No replaceable parts or consumables reported. Routine ownership is electricity, a wipe of the screen and, if the tilt-only stand is not enough, an aftermarket VESA arm. Dell publishes a Simplified Service Manual with hardware replacement procedures for the SE2426HG on its US support site, but whether individual parts are actually sold was not verified. [13]

Yearly running cost

Electricity is the only recurring cost: the Dell datasheet lists 14.0 W in on mode, 0.3 W in standby, 0.3 W in off mode and 40.0 W max. No electricity price is reported in the research, so a yearly dollar figure cannot be computed.

When it is a good buy

No US price was captured for the SE2426HG; the anchors are the China launch price of 749 yuan, about $106 (Gizmochina, 2025-12-21), CAD 139.99 at Dell Canada (Reddit sales post, December 2025 era) and EUR 92.00 excluding VAT at Dell Ireland (October 2026 research check). RTINGS files it in its Under $200 bracket. At roughly $106–$140 it is a reasonable name-brand 1080p 240Hz IPS for competitive play; above about $150–$200 the documented weaknesses get harder to accept, and below about $100 it is attractive if entry-level picture quality is fine. For US context only, Dell USA listed the 144Hz SE2426H sibling at $99.99 as a bracket for this class.
