Which model this is

This page covers the Magnifica Evo Next fully automatic espresso machine. The US variant is ECAM31080SB (“Magnifica Evo Next, Silver Black”, 120 V); the EU variant is ECAM310.60.B (“Magnifica Evo Next, Black”, 220-240 V). De’Longhi groups it under the ECAM31X.6Y / ECAM31X.8Y series. It sits between the Magnifica Evo and the Magnifica Plus in the lineup. Do not confuse it with the original Magnifica Evo (ECAM29X series), Magnifica Plus, Magnifica Duo, Magnifica Start, or Nespresso Vertuo machines. The Amazon listing for this machine is ASIN B0G6KFM496.

Espresso and milk

Coffee Crema and Doppio+ grind the longest at max setting (9 s = 13.5 g). Milk foam is creamier than the Philips LatteGo but below a traditional machine, with a single texture setting and milk around 140-150 F. Heating is by thermoblock with 30-40 s heat-up; standard espresso temperature runs 160-165 F, high setting 170-175 F. Noise runs 65-70 dB for the grinder, quieter for brewing, and about 70 dB for the frother, with a 5-7 s grind cycle.

Interface and usability

The 2.4-inch TFT color screen is operated by buttons below it, not by touch. The non-touchscreen interface and single milk-texture setting are the main usability trade-offs versus the Magnifica Plus.

Maintenance

Expect descaling every 2-3 months (4-5 months with soft water), water filter replacement every 2 months, grinder cleaning every 3-4 weeks, weekly deep cleaning of milk components, and a daily rinse after milk drinks. Descaling takes about 30 minutes. Use De’Longhi descaling solution, not vinegar. The milk carafe and frothing components are removable and dishwasher-safe, and the brew unit (infuser) is removable for washing.

Is it worth it?

At roughly $700-900 it is a reasonable mid-range superautomatic: 13 recipes, 3 profiles, steel burrs, color screen, LatteCrema milk and a 3-year warranty. Tom’s Coffee Corner listed $1,075 (page dated 2026-06-25). CoffeeDrinker.net puts it at $700-900 depending on model and retailer. If priced near or above $1,000, compare directly with the Magnifica Plus, which adds a touchscreen, adjustable milk texture and longer max dosing (10 s / 15 g). Versus the original Magnifica Evo and Magnifica Start, the Evo Next offers more recipes, a color screen and longer dosing (9 s vs 7 s). Versus Philips LatteGo-class machines, milk foam is creamier but single-texture and possibly cooler.
