Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A combined washing and curing station for resin 3D prints, with separate push-button modes and a 5-30 minute timer for each. Check the conflicting size specs before you buy: the manual and the store listing disagree on washing and curing dimensions.

Strengths

  • Separate washing and curing modes with a 5-30 minute timer for each.
  • Universal 100-240 V input with a 24 V DC supply.
  • Sealed washing container and a lid that blocks 99.9% of UV.
  • Documented troubleshooting and maintenance steps in the manual.
  • Hang-state wash fits build plates from 8.9 to 10.3 in.
  • Stainless-steel basket with a PP washing container.

Weaknesses

  • The manual and the store listing disagree on washing and curing dimensions, and the difference is unresolved.
  • No independent instrumented test of the exact unit was found.
  • No owner discussion of the exact unit was retrievable.
  • Spare parts and repairability are undocumented.
  • The US warranty is only up to 12 months per the store page.
  • Marketing specs such as LED count, impeller speed, vortex percentage and light intensity are claims, not figures verified in the manual text.

Which model this is

This page covers the Creality UW-03 Washing/Curing Machine, sold by Creality USA under SKU 1003020050 (variant 51732411384173). Do not confuse it with the UW-01, UW-02, UW-03S or any other wash-and-cure unit; only UW-03 manual and product-page evidence is used here.

How it works

Push-button control selects washing or curing, each adjustable from 5 to 30 minutes, with fast and normal speed modes. The washing container uses a magnetic stirring impeller rated at 500 r/min, and the curing platform sits under a UV protective cover with an orange lid that blocks 99.9% of UV. A hang-state wash fits build plates from 8.9 to 10.3 in. The manual documents washing-liquid recycling: alcohol must be over 95%, cloudy alcohol stands about 10 hours before decanting and reuse, and models should air-dry before curing to avoid whitening. Prints larger than 15 mm avoid falling through the basket. The manual also includes a resin-parameter reference table with an absorption band of 355-410 nm.

Running costs and maintenance

Creality lists the unit at $159 (compare-at $169) on its US store, and a 2024 review listed it at $149-159. The EU retailer 3DJake lists the unit as sold out. Warranty is up to 12 months on the store page; EU buyers receive at least 2 years legal guarantee. Daily care covers recycling the washing liquid, standing cloudy alcohol about 10 hours, decanting, removing bottom waste, rinsing the container and reusing filtered alcohol. The manual covers stirring-fan disassembly, cleaning, impurity removal, bearing replacement and reassembly. Its troubleshooting guide covers a unit that does not run, a non-rotating impeller, abnormal noise, whitening after washing or curing, and unlit mode indicators. Spare parts and repairability for the exact UW-03 are undocumented; a spare-parts discussion exists for the UW-1 but not for this model.

Is it worth it?

No independent test data or owner feedback exists to support a price verdict. At $159 the unit sits in the mid range of wash-and-cure machines on the manufacturer’s own pricing, and whether that is good value depends on specifications that partly conflict and on build quality not assessed here. Buyers should treat the marketing specifications as claims, confirm the actual unit on arrival, and rely on the store’s return policy.
