Summary
An OEM quick-swap integrated hotend with a 0.2 mm hardened-steel nozzle for the Creality SPARKX i7, meant for fine detail and small text at the cost of much longer print times. Check your filament plans before buying: Creality does not support solid-additive filaments or TPU through this nozzle size.
Strengths
- Fine detail: Creality positions 0.2 mm for intricate surface patterns, fine text and miniature features.
- Low-cost OEM part: $11.69 direct from Creality (sale from $12.99) in October 2026, so a spare size-ready hotend costs less than rebuilding one.
- Hardened-steel nozzle in a copper-nickel alloy body, with a quick-release lever that makes swapping modules practical.
- Ecosystem: dedicated socks, heaters, wiping strips and other nozzle sizes exist, so a jam need not mean a new printer.
- One owner reports swapping 0.2 and 0.8 mm modules as easily as changing filament.
Weaknesses
- Much longer print times; Creality warns 0.2 mm “significantly” increases printing time, with no tested multiplier published.
- No solid-additive filaments or TPU at 0.2 mm, despite the hardened-steel nozzle.
- Narrower process window: the smaller orifice is less tolerant of contamination, so under-extrusion checks apply.
- Consumable, not permanent: replace after more than six months, or sooner if clogged or damaged.
- Warranty terms are unclear and short for a separately purchased wear part; get coverage in writing.

Detail, speed and filament limits
The 0.2 mm nozzle is for fine detail, not speed. Creality warns that print times increase significantly, and no tested multiplier was published, so any specific factor would be invented. The printer is rated to 500 mm/s, but a 0.2 mm nozzle will not sustain that in practice. Although the i7 generally supports PLA, PLA Silk, PLA-CF, PETG and TPU, the 0.2 mm guide forbids solid-additive blends (marble, PLA-CF, PETG-CF) and TPU; the hardened-steel nozzle does not override that restriction. A June 2026 owner reported that after switching to the 0.2 mm profile, Creality Print showed only CR PLA and no PETG options, while the 0.4 mm profile restored them; treat that as a software and profile limitation, not proof that PETG is physically impossible. Creality still prohibits filled PETG-CF at 0.2 mm.
Swapping and upkeep
Unload and cut filament, let the toolhead cool, remove the front cover and silicone sock, raise the release lever and draw the module out horizontally; if it is stuck, Creality permits heating to 100 °C before retrying. Set the nozzle diameter in Settings, then Print Settings, then Nozzle, and match the slicer profile. No 220 °C hot-swap limit appears in manufacturer documentation; the “all-metal one-piece” and “quick swap up to 220 °C” claims are unverified. Maintenance means cleaning the hotend and sock, clearing clumped filament and checking PTFE fittings. A failed first layer can wrap filament around the hotend; one owner at roughly 1,000 hours reported a blob near 700 hours that cleaned off while warm without replacing the hotend. A March 2026 owner reported a severe jam that bent nearby tubing during removal; that is an individual case, not a confirmed defect of this part. Creality’s preventive advice is to consider replacement after more than six months of use.
Running costs and warranty
Creality lists the 0.2 mm option at $11.69 (sale from $12.99) and Alpha 3D Lab lists it at $19.95, both in October 2026 and before shipping and tax. Related consumables: silicone sock $2.99, hotend heating assembly $7.99, nozzle wiping strip $2.99, toolhead filament cutter $5.99. If an owner follows the six-month replacement advice at about two hotends a year, that is roughly $23.38 at Creality’s price or $39.90 at Alpha’s price, before shipping and tax. Value thresholds: at or below $15 delivered the OEM part is attractive for frequent fine-detail PLA work; $15 to $20 delivered is reasonable when local stock matters; above $20 to $25 delivered, compare the official $11.69 unit and its shipping first, and prefer the 0.4 mm for everyday PLA and PETG or the 0.6 and 0.8 mm for TPU and throughput. Warranty wording conflicts: the store page shows “up to 12 months” and “14-day return and refund,” but Creality’s return policy table lists the hotend as a wear part with 3 months and separately purchased parts with 7 days. Is it worth it?
At $11.69 direct it is a cheap way to add fine-detail capability to an i7 you already own, if you print unfilled PLA and accept slower speeds. At $19.95 it remains reasonable for an OEM part. It is the wrong choice for carbon-fiber, marble-filled or TPU work and for speed-focused printing. For everyday output the 0.4 mm module balances detail and efficiency; the 0.6 and 0.8 mm modules suit faster drafts, larger line widths and suitable TPU. No independent test compares wear life or print quality against non-OEM 0.2 mm hotends.
Which model this is
This is the OEM integrated quick-release hotend for the Creality SPARKX i7 with a fixed 0.2 mm nozzle; one retailer lists it under SKU 4001030168. The printer ships with a 0.4 mm hotend, so the 0.2 mm unit is an optional accessory, not the stock part. Do not confuse it with Ender, K, Hi or Bambu assemblies, which have not been verified as fit-compatible. ASIN B0H3KLPL1T
