Summary
A dual-chamber filament dryer that holds four 1 kg spools and reaches 85 °C, enough for PA, PAHT and PC. Check your power setup first: it pulls up to 360 W and can spike well past that on startup.
Strengths
- Two chambers run independent temperatures, so different materials can dry at once.
- Reaches 85 °C, above the 70 °C ceiling of shared-chamber four-spool dryers.
- Regenerable desiccant means nothing to buy or swap.
- One owner confirmed the set point with a calibrated meter, reading 86.2 °C in one chamber and 85.5 °C in the other.
- Quiet at 46–48 dB, with an auto-silent mode.
- The lid seal held humidity to a 2% rise over 36 hours in one owner test.
Weaknesses
- No professional instrumented test from major US outlets exists for this model.
- The touchscreen is slow to respond in at least one owner report.
- Roller quality varies: one owner found cheap plastic rollers and a deformed unit, while the review unit had metal cores.
- Startup draw spiked past 600 W and tripped a UPS in one test.
- One owner found chamber humidity read 23–26% while a hygrometer at the spool read 11%.
- Reports disagree on whether the lid has a rubber gasket.

Full research notes and sources
Two chambers, one box
The X4 splits up to four spools across two independently controlled chambers, each with its own 200 W heater. That matters when a dry spool of PLA sits next to a wet roll of PA: the second chamber can run hotter without cooking the first. Creality says running a single chamber saves up to 40% of the energy, and that the two chambers may sit 1–5 °C apart while heating, which the company calls normal. The 3.2-inch touchscreen sets temperature, time and per-chamber programs; firmware arrives on a TF or MicroSD card because there is no network connection.
Drying engineering filaments
The point of the 85 °C ceiling is engineering plastics. 3D Printing Industry dried PAHT-CF at 80 °C for 12 h, PA6 at 80 °C for 10 h, PC at 80 °C for 8 h and PA-GF at 80 °C for 8 h, and reported cleaner seams, less stringing and better layer adhesion on the dried parts. A Bambu Lab forum owner measured the chamber air with a testo meter at 86.2 °C and 85.5 °C, confirming the unit reaches its rated maximum.
Power and running costs
The 360 W figure is the total for both chambers, not each one. ThePhonograph.net saw the dryer trip a 600 W UPS during initial heating, so a battery-backed outlet can complain on startup. Sustained draw runs between about 120 W on a single chamber and 360 W across both, and Creality says a single chamber saves up to 40% of the energy. There is no desiccant to buy and no other consumable, so the running cost is electricity. Prices reported for the X4 include $134.99 in the r/Creality thread, $179 at B&H Photo, $199 from Creality’s own store in August 2025, and $159 standard with a $149 sale reported by All3DP in July 2025.
Owner reports and build quality
Owners on the Creality and Bambu Lab forums and on Reddit praise the temperature and humidity readings, the quiet running and the ability to dry two materials at once. One owner tested the internal sensor against calibrated SHT85 and AHT30 references and called it accurate enough. Reports also disagree on whether the lid has a gasket. These are single reports, not a failure rate.
Is it worth it?
At or below about $130 the X4 is a strong buy for anyone juggling multiple materials or drying PA and PC at 85 °C. Above $160 it is hard to justify unless that exact combination is the requirement, since owners report buying it well under the B&H and Creality list figures.
Which model this is
This is the SpacePi X4, the top of Creality’s SpacePi line, above the single-spool SpacePi and the two-spool SpacePi Plus. Do not confuse it with the X4L, which also takes four spools but has a digital display. The ASIN is B0DYTSB2YD.
