Summary
A one-meter replacement PTFE filament-guide tube with a star-shaped (ribbed) bore, sold as a consumable for 1.75 mm FDM filament paths. It is a cheap, reversible experiment, but Creality’s friction claims are marketing figures and owners report both better and worse feeding depending on the machine and filament.
Strengths
- Low cost: 11.58 USD for one meter at the US store, low enough to test against ordinary PTFE on one route.
- Some owners report reduced jamming on CFS-to-K2-Plus routes after replacing both tubes.
- K2-series owners reported improvements when the whole restrictive path was replaced and ends chamfered.
- Sold in 1 m, 2 m and 4 m lengths, so a route can be measured and cut to fit.
- Dark semi-transparent finish may let filament movement be seen in the tube.
Weaknesses
- The 30% friction reduction and 0.03 coefficient are manufacturer claims without a disclosed independent comparison.
- Owner results are mixed: some report more drag, especially with TPU or PPA and Bambu FTS paths.
- A tighter bore (about 1.85 mm measured by one owner) can conflict with paths designed for a 2.5 mm guide.
- Creality lists PTFE tubes and connectors as consumables with no warranty.
- Wear life and replacement interval are not documented; abrasive filament can wear the tube.
- A tubing cutter is not confirmed included; a clean square cut and proper fittings matter.

Friction claims and real-world results
Creality advertises 30% less resistance and a friction coefficient as low as 0.03, but no independent lab comparison was found in the pages read. Actual push and pull load depends on bend radius, inner geometry, filament stiffness, feed direction, spool routing and connector alignment. Owners report opposite outcomes: a May 2026 purchaser reported reduced jamming on a CFS-to-K2-Plus route, and October 2026 K2 owners reported improvements after replacing both printer and CFS tubes. Against that, an August 2025 Bambu H2-series owner reported more drag with TPU and PPA and could not load PPA even when assisting, and a September-October 2026 Creality user reported PETG becoming very tight near the end of a spool before moving to standard white tubing. Treat the 30% figure as a marketing claim, not a guarantee of fewer failures.
Compatibility and fit
The tube is advertised for 1.75 mm filament, but that does not establish universal compatibility with every feed path, fitting or Bambu AMS/CFS module. Bambu guide tubing may use a 2.5 mm bore, and a tighter replacement can interfere with loading and unloading, especially with an added Filament Track Switch. One owner measured about 1.85 mm across the star ribs; that is a single informal measurement, not a manufacturer tolerance. Check the actual machine’s required bore before replacing, and verify the whole path rather than one segment.
Running costs and warranty
The tube draws no power and needs no subscription. Creality’s return policy allows 14 calendar days after receipt for eligible returns, with exchange requests for qualifying faults within 30 days. Creality lists PTFE tubes and connectors as consumables with no warranty, so do not assume 12 months of coverage on a separately purchased tube. Support contacts are store@creality.com and cs@creality.com.
Alternatives and value
As of October 24, 2026, the official US store lists the 1 m tube at 11.58 USD, the 2 m at 18.91 USD (sold out) and the 4 m at 33.58 USD. Nearby smooth-bore options include Capricorn TL at 9.99 USD and Capricorn XS at 11.99 USD (Micro Center, Tustin, CA), and FYSETC smooth 2.5 mm ID tubing at 7.99 USD. At 15 to 18 USD delivered or above, ordinary replacement PTFE is the better buy unless the star profile has already proven itself on the machine.
Which model this is
This page covers the Creality Low-Resistance Star-Shaped PTFE Tube, 1 m, part 4004200030, for 1.75 mm FDM filament. It is a passive consumable, not a printer, hotend, heatbreak or complete extruder. Do not confuse it with the regular smooth-bore white Creality PTFE tube, the 2 m or 4 m versions, or other brands’ star-profile tubing.
