Creality Hyper PLA RFID: problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-10-25
Summary
Moisture on cardboard spools, grey-batch variation and nozzle clogging on some printers are the recurring problems owners report. No yearly running-cost data beyond the filament itself was found. It is a good buy only with a compatible Creality Filament System and a fast printer, at the Creality US store sale price of $21.00 (compare-at $31.90) checked 2026-10-25.
Common problems and fixes
- Nozzle clogging — one Ender 5-Max owner reports clogging after about an hour at 220 °C / 55 °C bed, while Ender Fast PLA runs 8 hours on the same machine; a nozzle, heating block and extruder upgrade did not resolve it. No filament-specific warranty terms were found, so warranty coverage is unclear. [6]
- Batch variation in grey — a K1 Max user printed about 30 kg of white/grey Hyper PLA without issues, then found a 6 kg grey batch and a separate 4 kg grey batch from a different batch both printed poorly, while white stayed fine. No remedy beyond qualifying a batch before stocking up. [7]
- Wet filament on cardboard spools — multiple Bambu forum users report Hyper PLA arriving wet, with humidity spikes to about 62 % in a dryer and water vapor condensing; black spools were worse than grey in one case. Dry the spool and store it sealed before blaming the profile. [5]
- Calibration corner tearing — a K1 Max user reports Hyper PLA “tears” 90-degree corners of calibration prints while generic PLA produces sharp corners, with little temperature sensitivity across 200–225 °C. No fix beyond profile tuning was reported. [8]
- Poor quality control reports — Reddit threads (titles only, pages not fetched) signal poor quality control, clogging and bad print quality with Hyper PLA. [9]
Parts and consumables
No replaceable parts or consumables reported.
Yearly running cost
Not enough data. Filament is the main recurring cost and there are no proprietary consumables or lock-in beyond CFS ecosystem convenience; drying equipment and sealed storage add cost. [4]
When it is a good buy
Creality US store listed $21.00 with a $31.90 compare-at price, with tiered discounts of $17.85 each for five, $16.80 for ten and $15.75 for twenty, at the 2026-10-25 check; the Creality VIP Mall page listed $31.90 at the same check. [1][2] Alternatives: Creality Ender Fast PLA, which one owner reports running 8 hours without problems on an Ender 5-Max where Hyper PLA clogged [6]; a lower-cost mainstream PLA when no CFS is owned or the printer is flow-limited [3][4]; PETG, ASA or nylon when heat, UV, chemicals or sustained load drive the requirement [3][4].
