Summary

A budget high-speed PETG filament on a 1 kg spool, sold by Creality’s own US store and aimed at fast printing on enclosed machines. Check the spec sheets before you buy: Creality’s store pages and its old data sheet disagree on speed, nozzle and bed temperatures, and owners on enclosed printers report extruder jams that need a profile fix.

Strengths

  • The US store sells the 1 kg spool at $18.99, well below most name-brand PETG.
  • Bulk tiers take the price down to $14.24 per spool at 20 or more.
  • Owners say it handles fast print speeds well when dried first.
  • Absorbs moisture slowly compared with other PETG, one reviewer notes.
  • Vacuum-sealed with desiccant and no odor while printing.

Weaknesses

  • Store pages and the data sheet disagree on speed and temperatures.
  • The 600 mm/s and 3-5x-faster claims come with no published test data.
  • Owners on enclosed K2-class printers report extruder-gear softening and jams on the stock profile.
  • One forum owner logged roughly 30 failed prints despite temperature, flow and drying changes.
  • The black colorway shows a reddish tint on thin parts under some light, one reviewer reports.
  • No independent instrumented test of this filament exists.

Speed and temperature specs

There are two published spec generations for the same product name. Creality’s current store pages claim up to 600 mm/s, a 190-260 C nozzle, a 45 C bed and +/-0.05 mm accuracy. The product’s v1.0 technical data sheet instead specifies up to 300 mm/s, a 220-260 C nozzle and a 70-80 C bed, and publishes measured mechanical values the store pages omit: 48 MPa tensile strength, 10% elongation, 2200 MPa flexural modulus, 6 kJ/m2 notch impact, 83 C Vicat softening and a 1.27 g/cm3 density. No changelog explains the difference, so expect to tune between the two. The 3-5x-faster marketing claim is unverified.

Printing on enclosed printers

The most useful owner reports are about heat, not the filament’s headline speed. On a K2 Plus running the stock Hyper PETG profile, one owner had the filament soften and jam the extruder gears after about 15 minutes of solid infill, reproduced across three rolls. The root cause was a chamber fan disabled in the profile letting chamber heat soften the filament, and enabling the fan at 100%, raising the nozzle to 260 C for black or 265 C for white, dropping flow to 0.92, or opening the door fixed it. A separate K2 report needed an external spool and a 290 C nozzle to stop gumming, with tradeoffs at that temperature. Another forum owner described roughly 30 failed prints with rough layers and extrusion faults across a wide range of temperatures, speeds and flows, with no repeatable result. None of this supports a defect rate; the two structured reports disagree on the main failure mode, which points to printer and profile dependence rather than a single flaw.

Storage and upkeep

Filament has no user-serviceable parts, so the maintenance that matters is keeping it dry. Creality’s US store advertises an up-to-12-month warranty and 14-day returns, while the UK store advertises up to 24 months on the same product; no warranty terms document for the filament was found.

Is it worth it?

At $14-19 per kg it is a reasonable budget PETG: the exact black spool’s retailer reviews are consistently positive on strength and stringing, which is the core value. For European buyers the picture is similar in relative terms, with 3DJake in Switzerland at CHF 21.50/kg and Creality’s EU store at EUR 29.99 down from EUR 44.99. At the $25.99 list price the spec conflicts, the missing third-party data and the mixed failure reports weaken the case, and above about $30 per kg established PETG brands with longer track records are the safer comparison.

Which model this is

This page covers Creality Hyper PETG in the black 1 kg, 1.75 mm spool, Creality’s high-speed PETG line. It is a different product from the standard CR-PETG line and from Hyper PETG-CF, the carbon-fiber variant, and their owner reports should not be merged with this one. A New Zealand retailer lists the exact black spool under manufacturer part number 3301030043.
