Summary
A high-speed PLA filament on a 1 kg spool, sold by Creality in the Very Peri colorway and rated to 600 mm/s for its K1 and K2 printers. Check two things before buying: the speed rating only pays off on a fast printer, and owners report the spool often arrives damp, so budget for drying it.
Strengths
- Sells at $19.99 a spool on Creality’s US store, down from a $32.99 list.
- Bulk tiers take the price to $14.99 each at 20 or more.
- Owners report clean, string-free prints once the spool is dried.
- Rated toughness is above average for PLA, at 53 MPa tensile and 8.83 kJ/m2 impact.
- Vacuum-sealed with desiccant and easy to print at 220-230 C.
Weaknesses
- Owners report popping and stringing right out of the sealed bag.
- Grey and red colorways draw repeated complaints while sibling colors print fine.
- Mechanical spec numbers are manufacturer-sourced, not independently measured.
- No independent instrumented test of this filament exists.
- US and UK store pages display different warranty badges.

Speed and who it is for
Hyper PLA is built around speed. Creality rates the 1.75 mm filament to 600 mm/s with fast cooling, and publishes a working range of 30-600 mm/s, which the data sheet narrows to 40-600 mm/s. That headline only matters on a printer that can approach it, such as Creality’s K1 or K2 machines; owners on a K1 SE report running it at about 300 mm/s with a 220 C hotend and a 55 C bed.
Moisture and colorway consistency
The most common owner complaint is moisture. Several owners report popping and stringing right out of the bag, usually fixed by drying; Creality recommends 4 hours at 50 C, and one owner printed a large shipping-container model in white that came out perfect after drying. A separate, colorway-specific signal is harder to explain: one owner’s grey Hyper PLA failed first-layer and third-layer adhesion across drying, glue and temperature changes while two white rolls from the same purchase were fine, and a K2 owner reported extruder gears chewing red filament with layer gaps. Another K2 SE owner traced stringing and wall cracking to residual PETG left in the nozzle after a material swap. These are caution signals from individual owners, not measured defect rates, and no Very Peri-specific complaints turned up.
Printing and care
The filament is a consumable, so the routine is drying and storage: keep the spool sealed with desiccant and dry it at 50 C for several hours if moisture is suspected. The standard version ships on a paper spool, which Creality does not recommend for its CFS multi-color boxes; the RFID plastic-spool version is sold separately for that. There are no user-serviceable parts, and a bad roll is handled through Creality’s 14-day return policy.
Is it worth it?
At $19.99 a spool the filament is a reasonable buy for owners of a Creality high-speed printer who want an inexpensive, tuned PLA. Creality’s US store lists the line at $19.99, down from $32.99, with tiers of $16.99 at five, $15.99 at ten and $14.99 at twenty. The RFID variant sells at B&H for $17.99, and Creality’s EU store lists the line at EUR 22.00 from EUR 32.99. At the $32.99 list price the value thins, and for a standard-speed printer a competing PLA+ at a similar price offers comparable tolerance without a speed rating you cannot use.
Which model this is
This page covers the standard paper-spool Creality Hyper Series PLA in the Very Peri color, 1.75 mm, 1 kg. It is not the Hyper PLA RFID plastic-spool version sold for Creality’s CFS multi-color printers, and not the Hyper PLA-CF, Hyper Rainbow, Stardust or Luminous variants. Do not merge owner reports from those lines into this one.
