Summary

Creality’s Hyper PLA is a high-speed 1.75 mm filament the manufacturer rates for up to 600 mm/s printing; Creality’s US store sells the 1 kg spool at $19.99. Budget for drying and speed tuning before you buy: owners report out-of-box stringing and clogging, and no independent instrumented test of this filament exists.

Strengths

  • The official CrealityPrint profile ships with Hyper PLA pre-tuned, including a 23 mm³/s volumetric cap.
  • After drying, owners report clean, string-free prints at around 300 mm/s with good layer adhesion.
  • One forum user reports Hyper PLA performed perfectly through a year of pretty steady work.
  • Creality’s US store lists the 1 kg spool at $19.99, down from $32.99, with bulk tiers down to $14.99 at 20+ spools.
  • Vacuum sealing with desiccant and a recyclable paper spool are the right defaults for PLA.

Weaknesses

  • No instrumented independent test exists; every mechanical number comes from Creality’s own data sheet.
  • Out-of-box stringing and nozzle clogging are the most repeated owner complaints, across the Ender 3 V3 KE, Ender 3 KE and K2 SE.
  • One Reddit owner’s spool arrived fused into a hard clump that needed substantial drying before it printed well.
  • Push the flow and the extruder clicks: a K2 SE owner reports a practical ceiling around 17 mm³/s on that toolhead.
  • Diameter tolerance is advertised two ways, so a caliper check may not match the listing.
  • Tougher-than-standard-PLA claims are manufacturer copy that no independent test has verified.

What 600 mm/s means in practice

The official CrealityPrint profile caps max volumetric speed at 23 mm³/s, and forum guidance for the K2 SE toolhead is nearer 17 mm³/s. Owners who run default settings and get stringing are hitting that gap, not necessarily a bad spool. Treat the headline number as a formulation rating and plan to tune flow and retraction per printer.

Moisture and first prints

Moisture is the first variable owners name: multiple forum replies to stringing threads lead with “dry the filament first”, and the TDS storage guidance says to keep filament dry and ventilated and use a dry box for partially used spools. A dryer or dry box is the common owner-recommended add-on. At the $19.99 direct price it is worth budgeting for one alongside the filament.

The tolerance question

Two of three published sources advertise ±0.03 mm diameter tolerance — Creality’s Singapore store and retailer 3DJake, the latter attributing it to 2-axis laser measurement — while the official Creality3D storefront alone claims ±0.14 mm “verified by two-way laser measurement”. No independent test arbitrates between them, and the TDS does not state a tolerance. Buyers checking with calipers should not assume ±0.03 mm.

Creality’s US store lists the 1 kg spool at $19.99, down from a regular $32.99, with volume tiers at $16.99 (5+), $15.99 (10+) and $14.99 (20+); bulk packs run from $59.99 for 4 kg to $129.99 for 10 kg. The official Creality3D storefront sells a 2 kg spool at $42.90 and the RFID 1 kg variant at $23.90; the US store lists the RFID spool at $21.00 (regular $31.90); 3DJake lists the orange spool at $22.40/kg excluding VAT; the UK store lists £18.99 (regular £22.99). All prices checked October 2026. At or under $15 a spool it is strong value for a high-speed PLA whose main risk is cheap to mitigate; $16–$20 is fair-to-good at the direct price; above $25 the lack of any independent testing makes it hard to justify against established filaments.

Which model this is

This page covers Creality’s Hyper PLA, the 1.75 mm, 1 kg high-speed PLA line in Orange; the researched listing is the Creality UK store variant 44758116040894. Do not merge it with Hyper PLA-CF, a different abrasive material with different temperature behavior, or with standard Ender PLA. The RFID variant adds a spool chip for automatic recognition by Creality’s CFS filament system on K2-series printers; on other printers it prints as ordinary Hyper PLA and the chip is ignored. Creality does not document SKU-level revision differences between its US, UK and EU storefronts.
