Summary
Check that the 1/4-inch mount fits your scanner body before buying, because neither store page documents the thread length or which surfaces accept it.
Strengths
- Cheap: the US store lists it at $22.79 against a $27.79 list price, with tiered bulk discounts below $20.
- Fits the exact scanners it is named for, in both the US and Australian storefronts.
- Carries the same store protections as the rest of the Creality catalog: 14-day returns and up to a 12-month warranty.
- Adds both a hand grip and a stationary tripod to a scanner that ships without either.
- Creality’s alternative for the same job, the Scan Bridge, is a $299 wireless handle, a different class of purchase.
Weaknesses
- No dimensions, weight, material, load rating or thread length are published, so fit cannot be confirmed from the page.
- The US page’s own description stops mid-sentence, and the rest of the body renders as images with no readable text.
- Compatibility with Sermoon S1 appears only in US listing copy; the Australian page does not name it.
- No independent test and no owner-review corpus exist for this accessory.
- The US page shows a review widget with no retrievable text, and its numbers cannot be read from the page.
- A buyer who only needs a fixed platform can buy Creality’s Manual Turntable for less than a third of the tripod’s price.

What the listing does not tell you
Neither page publishes a height, leg span, net weight, material, load rating, thread length or package-contents list, and the US page’s meta description is truncated mid-sentence at “Achieve stability and precision for fl…”. The readable text is limited to the title, subtitle, price, discount tiers, service badges and a truncated description. The product image is a render, not a dimensioned drawing.
The 1/4-inch interface is the standard camera-screw size, so the unit could plausibly double as a camera or phone tripod, but neither store page states that, and no adapter is listed. The claim of a rubberized non-slip grip is also absent from the readable text of either page. Buyers have to confirm the mount against their scanner body, or the camera or phone they intend to use, rather than reading it off the page.
Owner reports and stability
The evidence for this part is thin and mostly adjacent. No owner thread about the handle tripod itself was retrievable, and no owner-review corpus large enough to spot a pattern exists.
What forum posts do show is that a tripod solves only part of the scanning problem. A Creality forum post from 2026-05-09 describes an Otter Lite owner working on 1/1200-scale warship models with “a rotating table and various tripods for stability” who still could not produce clean .stl scans. An earlier 2025-02-02 post describes a Scan Ferret owner who bought “a turntable, a tripod, a can of dry shampoo as a duster, adhesive marker dots” chasing a handheld phone workflow and reports “not a single good scan”, with images that “slide” upwards at one frame per second or less and a possible bricked firmware update. A 2025-03-27 excerpt has a scanner user relying on “two led lights on tripods” for illumination and no longer using a rotatable stand. None of these posts reports a tripod failing; the problems are scan quality and firmware.
Is it worth it?
Creality’s own CR-Scan Otter page bundles the scanner with the Scan Bridge for $1,006.36 or with the Manual Turntable for $902.00, and its accessories panel lists the Manual Turntable at $9.90 and the Scan Bridge at $299, but never this handle tripod. A buyer who only needs a fixed platform can buy the Manual Turntable for less than a third of the tripod’s price; a buyer who needs wireless phone-driven scanning needs the Scan Bridge, a different class of purchase. There are no running costs to speak of: no consumables, no power, no service parts.
At $22.79 the accessory is cheap enough to justify buying if the scanner is already owned, and the store’s 14-day return window limits the fit risk. Above the $27.79 list price there is no independent performance data to justify paying more. If you need a rotating platform, the $29.72 kit or the $9.90 Manual Turntable are the better buys; if you need wireless phone-driven scanning, the $299 Scan Bridge is a different product entirely. The sensible decision is compatibility, not price.
Which model this is
This page covers the Creality handle tripod sold as a 1/4-inch grip and tripod for the CR-Scan Otter and CR-Scan Raptor, with the US listing also naming Sermoon S1. It is not Creality’s Scan Bridge wireless handle, which is listed separately at $299, nor the plain tripods that ship in the box with Revopoint scanners. Creality groups it in a US collection titled “Creality 3D Scanner Accessories – Tripods & Markers”. No manufacturer part number is published, so match on the product name and the 1/4-inch interface.
