Summary
An enclosed, fully pre-assembled 10 W diode laser engraver and cutter with a 305 × 381 mm bed, CoreXY motion to 600 mm/s, and a built-in camera for drag-and-drop positioning. Check your exhaust plan before you buy: the built-in fan and short hose are weak, and the machine ships without a honeycomb bed.
Strengths
- Fully pre-assembled; most owners report operational within 30–60 minutes of unboxing.
- Solid, sturdy build quality and square out of the box.
- Clean, detailed engraving with fine kerf and tight finger joints.
- Beginner-friendly safety: enclosure, lid-open stop, key lock, emergency stop.
- Good value for a 10 W enclosed machine with camera at the $466 direct sale price.
- LightBurn compatibility.
Weaknesses
- Weak built-in exhaust fan and short hose; external venting or extraction needed.
- Camera misalignment near edges; calibration wastes material and stays imperfect.
- No honeycomb bed included; flashback damages the workpiece bottom without one.
- No metal engraving capability; metal marking needs a coating or powder.
- Cutting-depth claims (6 mm wood / 10 mm acrylic) exceed hands-on results (clean 1/8-inch plywood).
- Limited Z-clearance with a honeycomb bed installed; the tray must come out for items taller than about 5 mm.

Cutting and engraving
One owner cut 3/8-inch white oak by slowing the feed, sometimes in two passes. The manufacturer states no cutting depth; a third-party claim of 6 mm wood / 10 mm acrylic single pass exceeds what hands-on testing achieved. Treat it as an engraving-first machine that handles occasional light cutting. It cannot cut transparent or clear acrylic, only dark or opaque, and it cannot engrave or cut metal.
Camera and positioning
The built-in HD camera gives a full-frame view with drag-and-drop auto-positioning and real-time preview. Auto material recognition works via QR codes on Creality-certified materials. Calibration wastes material (one owner reports a 12 × 12 sheet) and positioning stays inaccurate near the edges of the work area, so the frame function is still worth running. Firmware updates have temporarily broken camera and workspace functionality for some owners.
Exhaust, noise and workspace
The built-in fan and roughly 4 ft (≈1 m) hose are too weak for heavy cutting; plan on external venting or a purifier. The machine weighs 15.55 kg net (≈34 lb) and measures 567 × 468 × 196 mm, so it needs a sturdy, permanent spot. The exhaust fan also stops soon after a job, though Falcon Design Space has a setting to extend run time.
Is it worth it?
At the $466 direct sale price (list $599), it is compelling for engraving-first buyers: enclosed Class 1 safety, camera positioning, CoreXY speed, and a pre-assembled setup. Value drops if regular cutting of thicker stock is the job; step up to the A1 Pro 20 W or a higher-power machine. Budget for accessories: a honeycomb bed runs about $99, plus external exhaust or a purifier, safety glasses, and an optional LightBurn license. Maintenance is routine—clean the lens and protective lens, check belt tension, keep rails clean and lubricated, and clean the work area and tray—with monthly overall cleaning recommended. The 12-month warranty runs from date of receipt and requires proof of purchase and an order number. No extended warranty or parts availability beyond module upgrades was documented; the laser module is user-replaceable with the 20 W module sold separately.
Which model this is
This page covers the Creality Falcon A1 10 W, the enclosed diode model sold in black and white. It is not the Falcon A1 Pro 20 W (dual-laser, 358 × 268 mm work area), nor the open-frame CR-Laser Falcon 10 W or the Falcon2/Falcon2 Pro series. Bundle contents (air assist, TF card) vary by seller, and no hardware revision beyond color was documented.
The Falcon A1 Pro 20 W lists at $879 sale versus $1,099 list for comparison.
