Summary
A first-party polycarbonate-panel enclosure for Creality’s Ender-5 Max printer, meant to hold warmth for ABS and ASA while cutting noise and dust. Check the top-cover clearance over the extruder cable before you buy, because owners have documented a rubbing flaw there.
Strengths
- Purpose-built for the Ender-5 Max 400 × 400 × 400 mm CoreXY printer.
- PC panels and a frame are meant to keep ambient temperature up for ABS and ASA.
- Transparent panels are intended for real-time observation of the print.
- Creality advertises up to 12-month warranty and a 14-day return window.
- A community cable-guide model exists specifically for routing inside the enclosure.
- Bought as a kit with the printer, it saves money against buying the two separately.
Weaknesses
- One owner reports the top cover is too short for the extruder cable; in that case the cable broke and a fire resulted.
- A custom-enclosure designer documents the same top-cover clearance flaw and notes the cables and Bowden tube rub against it.
- Factory panels are dark-tinted and hard to see through.
- No internal dimensions, panel thickness, or door and vent design are published.
- No independent or professional test of this enclosure exists.
- Availability has been patchy; forum posts reported it sold out on the US store for a stretch.

Fit and the top-cover flaw
The clear caution here is headroom. The factory top cover is too short for the Ender-5 Max’s extruder cable and Bowden tube routing. One owner on r/Creality reports the cable broke and a fire resulted; a second source, a MakerWorld designer who built a custom enclosure, independently says the wires and Bowden tube from the extruder tend to rub against the factory top cover, and that the factory kit requires removing the whole top section to reach the print head. Whether later production runs changed this is not documented, so check clearance on yours before running long prints.
Visibility and what is still unknown
The same MakerWorld page says the factory panels are dark-tinted and hard to see through, which undercuts the “transparent observation” pitch. Creality’s first-party text gives no internal dimensions, no panel thickness, and no door, vent, filtration-mount or cable pass-through details. There is no enclosure manual in the printer’s download center, and no parts list, so assembly hardware and timing are unverified. Creality Cloud hosts a community cable-guide model tagged for the enclosure, which suggests cable management inside it is a known owner topic.
Creality’s US store lists the enclosure at $129.00 with a $146.33 compare-at and a $116.10 sale price (Creality US, 2026-10-16), plus ladder discounts of $109.65 each for two, $103.20 each for four and $90.30 each for six. The EU store lists €119.00. The Ender-5 Max printer itself is $749 on the US official store sale against a $1029 compare-at, and the printer-plus-enclosure kit is $848, quoted as saving $130 against $978. A New Zealand retailer lists the enclosure at NZ$282.27. Buyers weighing a DIY aluminum-profile and acrylic build should verify internal clearance, door and vent design, and panel tint first, because the factory clearance flaw is the documented risk.
Which model this is
This page covers the Creality Ender-5 Max Enclosure, the first-party accessory with reference number 4005010097, ASIN B0FDKB9Y7D.
