Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A Wi-Fi AC power controller and energy meter for compatible 3D printers, sold by Creality and built on BIQU’s Panda PWR hardware.

Strengths

  • Adds wireless on/off, energy monitoring and timed or print-completion shutdown to a compatible printer without a separate screen.
  • Local web dashboard runs in a browser, with documented factory reset and firmware recovery tools.
  • Real-time voltage, current, watts and accumulated energy can expose a printer’s baseline draw.
  • Two 5 V USB ports can power low-current accessories, with USB1 following the printer’s LED.
  • Listed around $39 at Creality’s US store, below many dedicated printer power modules.

Weaknesses

  • No independent instrumented test, teardown or exact-model owner discussion was found.
  • Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is documented; setup depends on local network access to port 4408.
  • One published owner review complains about the interface and launch readiness.
  • Warranty terms differ by seller: up to 12 months at Creality, 180 days at BIQU.
  • Shutdown after print completion cuts mains power, which may interrupt the printer’s cool-down fans.

Setup and day-to-day use

Initial setup uses a temporary access point and a local web page, usually at 192.168.254.1, then joins a 2.4 GHz network; the printer is linked by IP address and port 4408. Change the default access-point password after setup and keep the dashboard off the public internet. The device supports countdown timers, one-shot shutdown after a completed print, USB1 control and high/low power cutoffs. USB2 stays on at all times. Job-aware shutdown depends on correct network and host configuration; manual button control remains available.

Running costs, parts and warranty

No scheduled consumables or subscription are documented. The main ownership costs are the unit itself and, if damaged, a correctly specified replacement AC cord; no verified replacement-cord SKU or price was found. Creality advertises a 14-day return window and up to 12 months of warranty, while BIQU advertises 180 days; confirm the exact term for the purchased unit in writing. Support contacts include cs@creality.com and service001@biqu3d.com, and the FCC-filed manual lists service005@biqu3d.com.

Is it worth it?

October 2026 channel listings ranged from $35.49 to $62.90: Creality’s store at $39.43 against a $49.29 compare-at price, a variant tile at $35.49, BIQU at $38.99 against $49.99 regular, Newegg at $52.97 with import shipping, and the K2 accessory hub at $53.36. At or below $35 delivered it is reasonable only if the buyer specifically needs the documented Klipper completion workflow. Above $45–$55 a Shelly Plug US Gen4 at $24.99 offers 15 A / 1,800 W switching and a three-year warranty, though it does not provide the printer-specific completion logic. Do not buy if the AC rating cannot be reconciled with the printer’s nameplate, regardless of price.
