Coway Airmega 200M: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-17

Summary

The most reported faults are a total no-power failure within the first 6–7 months (one owner’s unit was replaced under warranty in about a week), loud 59.5 dB high-speed noise, and a thin carbon sheet that leaves smoke odors after an hour. Keeping it running costs $59.79 a year in genuine Coway filters (October 2026), or $54.99 with Walmart’s genuine kit, plus $71.83–$143.66 in modeled electricity depending on hours. At $229.99 new (Coway US and Walmart, October 2026) it is weak value; $183.99 (Dwell, mid-2026) is fair, and the $98–$108 clearance deals of March–April 2025 were exceptional one-offs.
