Summary
The Cosori TurboBlaze 6-Qt is a 6-quart single-basket air fryer, model CAF-DC601-KUS, rated at 1725 W with a 90–450°F range, nine cooking functions and a five-speed DC motor. Two claims to treat carefully: the “PFAS-free ceramic” basket is contradicted by a test lab that records PTFE in the coating, and a shake reminder is denied by two hands-on sources, so check the current spec sheet before buying.
Strengths
- Independent testing is strong: a test lab scored it 79 out of 100 and ranked it second in its group.
- The basket is large, with a measured 552 cm² cooking surface that is bigger than many 6-quart rivals.
- Cooking is fast: frozen tater tots took 18 minutes after a 4-minute preheat, and salmon hit 145°F in 10 minutes.
- The 90°F low end supports proofing and dehydrating, where many air fryers cannot go.
- The basket and crisper plate are dishwasher safe and release food without scrubbing.
- DC-motor operation is quiet relative to other air fryers in this class.
Weaknesses
- The crisping tray has a large central hole that lets small pieces fall through, which the test lab calls its one notable design flaw.
- The basket handle release is the most repeated caution, with reports of the button failing after months and a handle lock that feels flimsy.
- There is no viewing window, so you must pull the basket to check progress.
- A test lab records PTFE in the cooking-surface coating, which conflicts with the PFAS-free ceramic description in other coverage.
- Fan speed cannot be set directly; it follows the chosen preset.
- No shake reminder is documented by two hands-on sources, and no accessories ship in the box.
Verified specifications
| Model | CAF-DC601; US model string CAF-DC601-KUS. |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 6 qt (5.7 L) single basket; iFixit says it serves 3–5 people and RTINGS about four. |
| Power | 1,725 W at 120 V, 60 Hz. |
| Temperature range | 90–450°F (30–230°C); the air-fry range in one test lab’s table is 300–450°F, because the 90°F floor is for proofing and dehydrating. |
| Timer | 1 minute to 24 hours. |
| Functions | nine presets across air fry, roast, bake, broil, dehydrate, frozen, defrost, proof, reheat and keep warm, depending on how they are grouped. |
| Fan and motor | five fan speeds tied to the presets, not user-selectable; DC motor. |

| Basket | non-stick, dishwasher-safe basket and crisper plate; no viewing window. |

| Measured cooking surface | 552 cm² (85.6 sq in). |
| Dimensions | 14.4 in deep, 11.8 in wide and 11.9 in tall; one outlet lists 15.7 in deep including the handle, which is unresolved, and a test lab measured 29.7 × 29.2 × 36.1 cm. |
| Weight | unresolved, at 11.5 lb in one outlet and 13.2 lb (6 kg) in two others. |
| Materials | plastic outer body and panel cover with a metal food-contact interior, so no plastic touches the food. |
| In the box | basket, crisper plate, recipe book and quick-reference sticker; no other accessories. |

Cooking performance and capacity
Independent testing is unusually good for this price class. A test lab scored it 79 out of 100 and ranked it second of ten air fryers, awarding it its family category award, and measured a 400°F set point holding an average of 395.7°F over a 20-minute run. In its cooking tests, fries and tater tots produced a crisp exterior with a fluffy interior, wings browned well while staying juicy, and salmon came out moist with crisped skin; frozen tater tots needed 18 minutes after a 4-minute preheat and salmon reached 145°F in 10 minutes. A buying guide that named it its pick after hands-on testing found frozen fries evenly browned and finishing close to package timing, wings deeply browned with little intervention, and Brussels sprouts crisp outside and tender inside with no noticeable hot spots. The measured 552 cm² cooking surface is larger than that of many 6-quart competitors, which gives more room to spread food in a single layer.
Flat results on package timing are worth flagging. One outlet found food consistently overcooked when package directions were followed and had to shave minutes off, while another reported fries finishing close to package timing; the difference is likely food- and batch-specific. The machine holds 6 quarts and serves roughly four people, though one source puts the range at 3 to 5.
Coating, cleaning and safety
The coating is the material uncertainty. A test lab’s specification table records PTFE present in the cooking-surface coating, which sits uneasily with the “non-stick ceramic basket” description in other coverage and with any PFAS-free claim; no independent coating analysis was found either way. A shake reminder is reported present by one buying guide but is recorded as absent by a test lab and by a hands-on review, so two of three tested sources say no. The basket and crisper plate are non-stick and dishwasher safe, and the test lab found residue washed off with soap and water without scrubbing. The touchscreen collects fingerprints. The unit switches off when the basket is removed, and the test lab measured the exterior at 140°F during operation, near the burn threshold, though the same lab’s table lists a 130°F maximum; those two figures disagree.
Repairs, warranty and what is unverified
Repairability is limited but not zero. iFixit has a device page for the model with one published replacement guide for the control panel and common-problem entries for unusually loud noise and not reaching the set temperature. iFixit also states that Cosori recalled more than two million devices over closed-end crimp connectors that could overheat, and that this model was not among the recalled items; that is an uncorroborated user-contributed statement, not verified against a Cosori or CPSC notice. No warranty length was found on any page read. Reporters disagree on weight and on depth with the handle, so treat both as open. No failure rate is published by any source read.
