Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A corded countertop water flosser with a detachable 600 mL reservoir, two modes, a 12-position pressure dial and five tips, for households with the counter and outlet space to floss daily. Check two things before buying: the replacement tips are model-specific, and no independent E2 pressure or endurance testing exists.

Strengths

  • A 600 mL tank holds more water than many 150–300 mL cordless models, so a longer routine rarely needs a refill.
  • Twelve dial positions and two modes give more adjustment than the single-mode E1.
  • The on-handle water slider lets you seat the tip in your mouth before the water starts.
  • The vented upright tip rack keeps several people’s nozzles separate and off the counter.
  • COSLUS lists an official E2 five-pack of tips at $12.99 (COSLUS US, 2026), so the main consumable has a documented source.
  • Clear English return and warranty terms plus support@coslus.com.

Weaknesses

  • No independent E2-specific pump, pressure-calibration or failure testing exists, so longevity is unknown.
  • Replacement heads are model-specific, and the maker warns that tips for its other models can be mismatched.
  • With the handpiece closed and the dial above level 6, the pump can run with no water output; that is described as a protection condition, not confirmed by COSLUS.
  • There are no published part numbers or prices for the pump, hose, valve, handle, reservoir or adapter.
  • COSLUS’s ADA acceptance covers the E40, not the E2.

Water pressure and modes

The E2 turns water pressure into a numbered choice rather than a measured one. The dial has 12 positions, the base switches between Floss and Massage, and the model guide says to start at level 1–2 when you are new to it or your gums are sensitive. The advertised 10–160 psi range and roughly 1,400 pulses per minute come from the seller and a promotional demonstration; neither gives a pressure curve for each numbered step, so setting 6 is not half of maximum. Treat the numbers as seller marketing until a manufacturer test sheet appears.

The on-handle slider lets you aim the tip at the gumline over the sink and pause without reaching behind the base. Splashing is a technique issue: keep your lips mostly closed with water draining back into the sink, and expect the highest dial settings to feel strong.

Tips, upkeep and running costs

Five tips ship in the box, and the set mixes standard, orthodontic, tongue-cleaning and periodontal shapes. COSLUS lists an official E2 five-pack at $12.99 (COSLUS US, 2026), and the maker warns that tips for its other models can be mismatched, so buy replacements that say E2. If one person uses four new tips a year, the consumed share of a pack is about $10.39, but you still pay the full $12.99 up front. Two people changing a tip a quarter work out to about $20.78 a year, though ordering two five-packs costs $25.98 and leaves spares; the assorted mix may not cover eight replacements of the same shape. Nobody publishes an E2-specific tip-replacement interval, so treat three months as a budget guess, not a rule.

Electricity is the small part. The E2 plugs into the wall and has no battery, and no tested annual figure exists. As an illustration only, two minutes a day at a hypothetical 40 W would come to 0.487 kWh a year, about $0.10 at $0.20/kWh. Empty the tank, rinse the tips and store them dry; there is no verified dishwasher-safe or self-cleaning claim, and the drain hole in the tip rack is not disinfection.

Warranty and returns

The storefront headline says 2-year warranty, but the written COSLUS warranty page says 12 months standard, extended to 24 months only if you register within 30 days. It covers the original purchaser, is not transferable, and excludes accessories. Registering matters, because the headline term alone is not an unconditional promise of a new unit. Returns start by email within 30 days of receipt; items must be unused and in original packaging, and COSLUS says it pays return shipping for defective or incorrect goods while you pay freight for a change of mind. Support is support@coslus.com and +1 855-594-3950, Monday–Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Eastern.

Is it worth it?

At $49.99 direct from COSLUS, the E2 is a reasonable way to try adjustable at-home flossing if you have the counter space and accept unknown repairability. The single-mode E1 is $42.99, so you pay $7 for the extra Massage mode. The Walmart COSLUS category showed a 600 mL, 12-setting family unit around $39.99 and a different EX2 with two modes, 12 settings, 600 mL and five tips around $45.99, but neither listing pins those offers to the maker’s E2 product code, so do not treat them as E2 checkout prices. Above about $55–$60, compare the Waterpik Ultra WF-100 at $69.99 MSRP, which carries ADA acceptance and a three-year limited warranty, and near $100 the Waterpik Aquarius WP-660 at $99.99 MSRP adds a one-minute timer with a 30-second pacer. No independent head-to-head laboratory test of the E2 against either exists.

Which model this is

This page covers the corded, dual-mode COSLUS E2 countertop flosser on the maker’s US store, not the battery-powered E40, not the single-mode E1 (RST5102) and not a Walmart EX2 listing without a matched model ID. COSLUS sells the E2 in white and black.
