HyperX Cloud Mini – Wireless Gaming Headset (White): problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-25

Summary

The HyperX Cloud Mini – Wireless is a $49.99 MSRP Bluetooth on-ear headset sized for gamers aged 8-12, with a volume cap below 85 dB, up to 25 hours of battery life, and a 2-year manufacturer warranty. The main open questions are an unresolved charge-time discrepancy, whether the volume cap applies over the wired connection, and the absence of replacement parts on the manufacturer site. No independent test or owner discussion was retrieved, so reliability and audio quality remain unverified.

Common problems and fixes

Unresolved charge-time discrepancy — the product page lists a 2-hour charge time while support articles state about 2.5 hours from low battery; the discrepancy is unresolved, so neither figure can be relied on for planning. Warranty coverage for this is not specified in the retrieved material. [1][3]
Volume cap may not apply over wired use — the below-85 dB cap is stated over Bluetooth and with most devices, but its application over the 3.5 mm wired connection is not specified; buyers using the wired connection should not assume the same limit. Warranty coverage for this is not specified in the retrieved material. [1][5]
No replacement parts found — no replacement cushions, cables, or microphone parts for this model were found on the manufacturer site, and availability is unknown; a broken cable or cushion may mean replacing the whole headset. Warranty coverage for this is not specified in the retrieved material. [1]
Bluetooth-only wireless, no 2.4 GHz dongle — connectivity is Bluetooth 5.3 or a 4-pole 3.5 mm cable; no 2.4 GHz wireless dongle is included or referenced, which may add latency versus a dongle headset for gaming. Warranty coverage for this is not specified in the retrieved material. [1]
Unverified durability — no independent test or owner discussion was retrieved, so long-term durability of the plastic frame, hinges, and cable is unverified. Warranty coverage for this is not specified in the retrieved material. [1][8]

Parts and consumables

No replaceable parts or consumables reported.

Yearly running cost

No consumables, replacement parts, or subscription lock-in are reported for this model, so recurring spend beyond charging is not quantifiable from the retrieved material; electricity cost is not given. Not enough data.

When it is a good buy

The manufacturer page listed an MSRP of $49.99 at the time of check, with a 25% discount code (TREAT25) displayed; terms and exclusions apply and the code may expire. [1] No non-manufacturer store prices were retrieved in this run, so no price thresholds at other stores are defensible. Named alternatives from the retrieved material: the wired HyperX Cloud Mini – Gaming Headset (SKU 7G8F5AA) at a $29.99 MSRP, which is the better choice when a lower price and a wired connection are acceptable. [1][6] Buyers who need verified audio quality, measured microphone performance, or a 2.4 GHz low-latency link should look elsewhere, since those are not established for this model in the retrieved material.
