Summary
A low-cost aluminum skillet with a diamond-infused ceramic nonstick coating, sold direct for $32.99. Check the marketing claims before you buy: an independent TV test contradicted the 5x-harder and 4x-heat-transfer claims, and owners report the finish wearing out within one to six months.
Strengths
- Low price: a manufacturer direct listing at $32.99.
- Easy release and cleanup when new, especially for eggs with a little oil.
- Excellent cooking evenness and food release in Consumer Reports’ lab test of the related set.
- Toxin-free coating positioning: no PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium.
- Versatile for frying, sautéing, baking, and broiling.
Weaknesses
- Coating wears out fast: owners report one to six months; ceramic coatings generally last about a year.
- Handle gets hot despite “stay-cool” advertising.
- Independent TV test found the pan dented in one mallet swing and scratched immediately.
- Boil test was slower than a copper pan, contradicting the 4x heat-transfer claim.
- Not induction compatible.
- No lid included; pan only.

Coating claims and independent tests
Blue Diamond markets the coating as 5x harder and 10x longer lasting than conventional coatings, plus 4x better heat transfer. The only hands-on test of the 10" pan, an ABC15 Smart Shopper “Bull or No Bull” segment, contradicted those claims: a mallet dented the pan in one swing, a hand mixer scratched the surface immediately, and water reached a rolling boil at 6 min 29 sec versus 5 min 19 sec in a copper pan. Eggs stuck in the ABC15 test, though melted cheese released with grease. Consumer Reports’ lab test of the related Blue Diamond cookware set rated the coating line excellent for cooking evenness and food release, very good for nonstick durability after 2,000 steel-wool strokes, and excellent for handle temperature. Wirecutter’s general ceramic-pan testing found ceramic coatings lose nonstick properties in about a year and cost more for worse performance than PTFE pans.
Handle, heat and care
The handle is riveted stainless steel and advertised as stay-cool, but owners and review sites report it heats quickly, especially when the pan is smaller than the burner. Use low-to-medium heat, a little oil or butter, and hand wash with a soft sponge; avoid nonstick spray and extra virgin olive oil. The pan is dishwasher safe per the manufacturer, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
Warranty and running costs
The pan carries a limited lifetime warranty for defects in materials and workmanship, but the Thermolon coating is covered for only 2 years, and stains, discoloration, and scratches from normal wear are excluded. The 90-day return window applies. There is no replacement-parts catalog, so repairability is limited to warranty replacement. Recurring costs are cooking oil and cleaning supplies; replacement is $32.99 direct from the manufacturer listing. At roughly $40 or more, better-tested pans such as Tramontina Professional at about $35 and OXO Enhanced at about $60 offer stronger tested performance.
