Summary
A 74Wh metal power bank with one 65W USB-C port, two USB-A outputs, a Micro-USB input and a percentage display, sized for a day bag rather than a pocket. Verify the label before buying: the catalog title promises a 240W and “Smart 5” model that the Baseus listing and manual do not support.
Strengths
- USB-C delivers 65W, enough to hold or charge many 65W-capable laptops.
- 74Wh sits under the usual 100Wh limit for airline spare batteries.
- A two-hour refill from a 60W-capable adapter is quick for its class.
- Metal case with a voltage and current readout that can expose a weak cable.
- A 45W + 18W split lets a laptop and a phone charge at the same time.
- Buyers of the exact PPIMDA-D01 at a Ukrainian retailer report good laptop and phone results.
Weaknesses
- Only one USB-C port, so charging the bank occupies the socket a laptop needs.
- A laptop drops from 65W to 45W when a USB-A device is connected.
- Some units fail early, with the meter collapsing to zero, shutting down or taking almost no charge.
- A 2026 owner described an original and a replacement both failing, and another reported a reset loop with audible noise after a surge.
- PPS may be missing, so some phones may not reach their top charging mode.

Charging and power sharing
The single USB-C port is both input and output, so the bank and a laptop compete for it. On output it can supply 65W to one compatible device, but adding a USB-A device cuts the USB-C side to 45W, which matters when a laptop is working hard. The manual caps both USB-A outputs together at 5V/3A and advertises simultaneous charging of three devices, not four, despite the four connectors. A 60W-capable adapter refills the bank in about two hours; slower USB-A or Micro-USB chargers take longer.
Failures owners report
Owner posts describe several failure shapes rather than one defect. A January 2023 new unit drew about 0.3A and stopped working once unplugged, with later commenters reporting similar dead units. Steam Deck owners in 2024 described the display falling from about 80% to 0% and another unit stopping near 30%. An August 2026 owner named PPADM65-S and said a replacement failed again after storage. An April 2026 owner reported a repeating reset loop with high-pitched noise after a power surge, and a later update said Baseus settled the case. Other owners report years of trouble-free use. If a unit hisses, swells or gets unusually hot, stop using it.
What you pay and the alternatives
At the checked points the US Baseus listing was $58.99 from $62.99 but out of stock, a separate SKU was $79.99 and also out of stock, and a Newegg marketplace listing was $128.09. A 100W UGREEN Nexode of the same capacity was $57.99 on promotion, another UGREEN 100W was $59.99 and an Anker 20K was $69.99. Between $35 and $40 a genuine 65W unit with return rights is a reasonable budget laptop option; above about $58 the newer 100W alternatives are the better value.
Which model this is
This is a 65W, 74Wh bank, not a 240W or “Smart 5” device; neither the Baseus listing nor the manual supports those catalog words. Baseus also sells a separate listing under SKU PPIMDA-E03, and the accessible manual identifies the family as PPADM65-S, so confirm the label on the actual unit. Baseus has recalled different magnetic models, PPCXM06 and PPCXW06, not this bank.
