Summary
A slim 18 mm 20,000mAh power bank built to charge laptops at up to 100W, with a digital percentage display and a shape that slides into a laptop bag pocket. The 100W figure is a ceiling rather than a guarantee: two 2022 instrumented tests never saw it, topping out at 92W and settling near 60W.
Strengths
- An 18 mm slab that fits a laptop bag pocket.
- A legible percentage display with time remaining, not just LED dots.
- Charges laptops at useful speeds, near 60W on Surface devices in testing.
- Fast self-charging: 83% in one hour at 60W input in ZDNET’s test.
- Auto-starts charging on plug-in, with no button press needed.
- The included 100W PD cable avoids the wrong-cable slowdown.
Weaknesses
- The advertised 100W single-port output was never observed in either 2022 instrumented test; peaks were 88–92W and real-world output settled near 60W.
- 100W output is available only down to about 17% charge, per a Reddit comment.
- The display tracks only one connected device at a time, and which one seems random.
- Multi-port use splits power and can cap a phone at 10W.
- Reddit commenters describe Baseus quality control as unreliable, including a unit that stopped charging.
- The warranty is most plausibly 1 year, with conflicting 2-year claims.

Ports and real output
The 100W figure is a single-port maximum that requires the receiving device to negotiate it. ZDNET’s 2022 instrumented hands-on never saw 100W from one port: a Surface Laptop Studio peaked at 92W, briefly 88W, then settled near 60W and even about 50W at half charge, while a Surface Book 3 charged at about 60W and both settled around 48W near full. XDA could not verify 100W because it owned no 100W device, but confirmed about 60W delivery and cited owner reports of real 100W operation with a Surface Book 2 and MSI laptops. A Reddit comment adds that 100W output is available only down to about 17% charge.
Self-charging and pass-through
The bank recharges over USB-C at 65W, and Baseus claims a full recharge in about 1.5 hours. ZDNET measured 83% in one hour at 60W input and a full charge in about 85 minutes. Pass-through charging is supported, but when output reaches or exceeds 65W the auto switch-off protection activates.
Display and multi-device behavior
The digital display shows remaining percentage, volts and amps, and estimated time remaining, but it tracks only one connected device at a time, and which one seems random. It blinks continuously while the bank itself is charging and flashes below 10%. Multi-device use splits power (65W + 30W, or 45W + 30W + 18W) and can produce inconsistent per-device speeds; XDA found a Galaxy S22 sometimes capped at 10W when charged alongside a laptop. USB-A ports are rated 30W but QuickCharge devices in XDA’s testing reached only about 10W. OPPO-series devices charge at only 5W to 10W, while Xiaomi over USB-A can reach about 27W.
Owner reports
The consistent cautions are multi-port power splitting, a display that shows only one device, display readability and, on Reddit, Baseus quality control. In the r/UsbCHardware Baseus versus Ugreen thread, commenters call Baseus quality “a joke” and report a unit that “wouldn’t charge to 100%” and “stopped taking any more charge”. Those are anecdotes about Baseus power banks, not a defect rate.
Repairs, warranty and running costs
There is no repairability assessment and no user-serviceable parts documentation. The ChargerLAB teardown identifies the internal components (Joulwatt JW3312 protection, Silan SC59E23 controller, Southchip SC8812A buck-boost, Ismartware SW3516H USB-A buck) but offers no repair guidance. Running costs are limited to a 65W-or-faster USB-C charger for fast self-charging and replacement cables.
Is it worth it?
At $60 or less the Blade is a strong value for a slim laptop-class bank; the documented 2025-04 sale price of $53 was the low point. Between $61 and $100 it sits at the historical launch price ($99 to $99.99) and is a fair pick for owners of 60W-class laptops. Above $100 it gets weak, and Baseus’s own $129.99 listing is above what the older reviews justify given the unmet 100W claim. Newer variants such as the Blade H1 at $89.99 have since appeared. The differentiator is the flat slab shape plus the display, not the 100W sticker, which independent testing has never fully confirmed on this model.
Which model this is
This page covers the original Baseus Blade PPBL000201: 162 × 143 × 18 mm, 506 g, with 2 USB-C and 2 USB-A ports and a digital display. It is not the Blade HD (PPBL000301, a square 444 to 445 g revision with silicon-carbon cells), the Blade H1, or the Blade2, which is a 65W 12,000mAh model.
