Summary

A slim 20,000mAh / 74Wh laptop power bank with two USB-C and two USB-A ports, a built-in LCD and 65W self-recharge.

Strengths

  • At 0.7 in thick, it is one of the slimmest 20,000mAh / 100W banks in its class.
  • Two USB-C and two USB-A ports cover laptops, phones and accessories.
  • The LCD shows percentage, live volts and amps, and estimated time.
  • PD 3.0, PPS, QC and Apple 2.4A cover a wide range of devices.
  • 74Wh fits under the 100Wh airline limit.
  • A 24-month warranty is on the higher end for the category.

Weaknesses

  • 100W is a peak: sustained output settles near 65W and thermal protection cuts it after about nine minutes at full draw.
  • The two USB-C ports share one budget, and the split is unpredictable; a phone can drop to about 10W.
  • The display shows only one device’s draw and cannot be switched off.
  • The glossy display surface scratches easily, even in the included pouch.
  • No wall charger is included, so a 65W PD charger is needed for the advertised 1.5 h self-charge.
  • Only about 63 to 66Wh of the 74Wh nominal is delivered.

The 100W ceiling

The single most important measured finding is that 100W is a peak, not sustained. The main USB-C port reaches 99.9W at 20V / 5A, but thermal protection cuts output back after about nine minutes of continuous full-power draw, and the surface reaches 58 to 59 °C. ZDNET’s 2022 testing of laptops that were supposed to charge at 100W over USB PD never saw 100W: it measured about 60W for a Surface Book 3 and 60 to 75W for a Surface Laptop Studio with brief 88 to 92W spikes, settling around 60W. In practice, plan on roughly 65W for a sustained laptop charge.

Power sharing and the display

The two USB-C ports share one budget rather than each delivering 100W, and the split is not always predictable: XDA found a phone sometimes capped at 10W while a laptop was also connected. The display reports only one device’s live draw, never sums the ports, blinks while the bank is charging and cannot be turned off, and its glossy surface scratches easily. Delivered energy also runs below the label: 63Wh at 65W (about 85%) and 66Wh at 15W (about 89%) of the 74Wh nominal.

Owner reports and reliability

Owner evidence is mixed but leans positive. A Reddit owner has used a 100W Blade for years without trouble and takes it on every trip, and a ROG Ally owner runs the handheld in turbo mode for 1.5 to 2 hours per charge. Counter-signals are isolated: a r/SteamDeck thread describes a unit that would not hold a charge and took 12 hours for 35%, and a r/UsbCHardware thread asks whether a failed Blade’s cells or circuitry are to blame. A 2024 CPSC recall covered about 132,000 Baseus magnetic wireless power banks, a different product line that should not be applied to this model.

Upkeep and warranty

Baseus says power banks typically last about three years, with cells rated at least 500 charge-discharge cycles and some units 800 to 900 cycles, and advises not to charge a cracked or swollen unit. There is no user-serviceable battery or documented repair path, and no parts channel was found for this model. The self-charge rate depends on the charger: a 65 to 67W charger fills it in about 1 h 23 to 1 h 30, while a weaker or unstable charger stretches past 90 minutes. The warranty is 24 months.

Is it worth it?

XDA reported a $99.99 regular price in April 2022 and ZDNET saw £64 in the UK in September 2022. Baseus’s US store lists the Blade 100W at $129.99 regular and $69.99 sale, and a Newegg listing shows it at $162.99; a non-US reseller lists it at AED 265, down from AED 349. Under $60 it is strong value for a slim 74Wh bank with a display and four ports. From $60 to $80 it is still good, from $80 to $100 it is fair, and above that it is weak, because Baseus has itself released newer, slimmer siblings such as the Blade HD and EnerFill FC41. Buy it for the 0.7-inch thickness and 74Wh, not for the 100W label.

Which model this is

This is the Blade 100W, SKU PPBL000201 / PPBLD100-X / PPBLD100-S. Do not merge it with the smaller Blade HD 100W (SKU PPBL000301, 445 g), a distinct newer sibling, or with the EnerFill FC41. The US listing is ASIN B0FMFBHP4N.
