Sound and noise cancelling

The only hands-on review (AppleInsider) reported effective ANC and transparency mode, app-based EQ with presets and custom profiles, and occasional volume variation in one earbud during vigorous movement. HearWiki gives an aggregated score of 71/100 (sound 6.5, noise cancelling 6.4, battery 5.6, calls 6.2, value 7.2), paraphrased from a single source rather than an original hands-on test. The -42 dB ANC figure is a manufacturer claim with no independent measurement found. No exact-model tests were found from RTINGS, Wirecutter, Tom’s Guide, CNET, or PCMag.

Battery life

Baseus states 5 hours of music at 70% volume and 25-30 hours with the charging case, from 40 mAh earbud and 400 mAh case batteries. A 10-minute charge gives 2 hours of playback, with a full wired charge taking about 1 hour and a wireless charge about 1.5 hours. HearWiki rates battery at 5.6 out of 10. Owners did not report battery life directly; the main battery-related complaint is a charging case that would not charge.

Controls and app

Touch controls cover tap and long-press actions but no on-ear volume adjustment. Wear detection auto-pauses and resumes playback. The Baseus app handles EQ presets and custom profiles, gesture customization, ANC mode selection, a low-latency toggle, and a find-earbuds alarm effective for about 35 hours. AppleInsider noted the app may not readily recognize the earbuds and may require a case reset. The charging case has no battery-percentage indicator.

Durability and warranty

Owner reports are few and self-selected: after about two months only one earbud could connect at a time despite both being fully charged; a charging case that would not charge; and one side (right) stopping working, with one owner seeing the same failure on a second unit after about three months. AppleInsider also noted a slightly wobbly case lid. No prevalence or defect-rate data was found.

Baseus states warranty periods range from 18 to 24 months, with orders placed on or after 2024-01-01 subject to the 18-24 month period. Warranty claims for online purchases should first go to the purchase channel or platform. The product page states a 7-day no-reason return in original condition and 30-day after-sales service for manufacturing defects. Refunds are processed within 3 business days after warehouse receipt and may take 7-15 business days to appear. Shipping is free over $20 and $6.90 under $20, with delivery typically 3-8 business days to most US addresses. Baseus support is reachable at care@baseus.com or +1 800 220 8056, Monday-Friday 10:00-18:00 UTC-5. Maintenance per the manual: keep charging contacts clean; ambient temperature 0-45 °C; do not immerse in water.

Is it worth it?

At about $12-$20: strong value if the ANC and call claims hold, but the durability signals and lack of independent testing are the main caution. At about $20-$35: fair-to-good value; compare against tested alternatives on sound and ANC. At $35-$45: fair; the feature set is competitive but the lack of independent tests and small owner-report durability concerns weigh against it. Above $45: weak unless specific features such as wireless charging, multipoint or the Baseus app are required. Baseus listed the earbuds at $39.99 on its US product page and showed them as sold out. baseustech.com listed $12.00 against a $39.99 original price with 1000 in stock. HearWiki lists a $30 typical price. Baseus’s own support manual-download list did not list “Bowie M2 Plus” among the checked models; a 4-page user manual for this model is available via ManualsLib.
