Baseus 17-in-1 3 Monitors Docking Station (WKSP020013): problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-11-04
Summary
The dock itself is rarely the problem; the limits come from the platform. Baseus states macOS can only mirror across three displays, Windows can drop one of three displays or the laptop screen, and two or three screens run at 1080p@60 instead of 4K. The included 36 W adapter powers the dock only, so a separate 60–100 W USB-C PD charger is the usual extra cost. At $119.99 on the Baseus store in November 2026 it was a reasonable buy for a Windows laptop that only needs 1080p triple screens, but it is the wrong tool for a Mac user who needs three separate desktops or for triple 4K@60.
Common problems and fixes
- macOS mirrors instead of extending — Baseus states there is no MST on macOS, so the desktop can only be mirrored across the three displays, and extended mode needs “Mirror Display” unchecked. There is no fix for this; it is a stated design limit and the warranty does not cover it. [1]
- One display or the laptop screen shows no signal on Windows — the Intel control panel supports only 3 interfaces, so with three displays attached one of them or the laptop screen can lose signal. Baseus recommends keeping the dock on its adapter during long sessions because some laptops have over-discharge protection, and some laptops upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 need a USB-C driver update. [1]
- Resolution drops as soon as a second display is attached — one HDMI port drives 4K@30, but two or three displays run at 1080p@60, and Baseus recommends identical monitors. No setting raises this; it is the spec of this SKU. [1]
- Two power cables end up on the desk — the included 12 V / 3 A (36 W) adapter powers the dock only, and laptop charging needs your own USB-C PD charger for up to 100 W, which is not included. Baseus states the supported PD range as 60–100 W in one place and 65–100 W in another. [1]
- The laptop or cable may not carry video at all — a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) port cannot output HDMI, the included full-featured 3.3 ft USB-C cable is required, standard USB-C cables do not carry video, and Baseus does not recommend adapters. Baseus lists laptops it says are not compatible: Huawei MateBook D15, Lenovo Yoga 6, Lenovo IdeaPad 320s, IdeaPad S145-15IWL, Lenovo E590, Acer Nitro 5 AN515, Acer Aspire 5 A515-44-R1BU. [1]
- The port count in the name does not match the product — “17-in-1” is a marketing figure; Baseus’s own spec table lists 5 total ports and 5 USB ports, and the text says 2 USB-C ports while the interface list shows three USB-C connections. [1]
- Returns and warranty terms are unclear — Baseus links a “Hassle-Free Warranty” but does not state its length, so coverage for a failed HDMI port cannot be confirmed. Baseus allows 7 business days for no-reason returns in new condition and 30 business days for manufacturing defects. [1]
Parts and consumables
Yearly running cost
Not enough data. The sources give no electricity consumption figure for the dock and no consumable parts beyond SD/TF cards, so a yearly figure cannot be computed. The recurring exposure is a replacement 60–100 W USB-C PD charger if your own one fails, plus replacement memory cards if you use the reader.
When it is a good buy
The Baseus store listed it at $119.99 in November 2026, marked sold out. At that level it fits a Windows laptop with a full-featured USB-C port when 1080p mirrored or extended triple screens are enough; it is not worth buying for a Mac that needs three separate desktops.
- Baseus UnionJoy 17-in-1 Triple Display Docking Station (SKU B00532304811-00) — listed at a $129.99 sale price on the Baseus store in November 2026. It has 2 × HDMI plus 1 × DisplayPort at 4K@60 each instead of three HDMI at 1080p@60, so it is the better choice when 4K on every output matters; the sources do not state that it changes the macOS mirroring limit. [2]
- A Mac or triple-4K setup — no other named product appears in the sources, so there is no sourced alternative beyond the UnionJoy sibling. Anyone who needs triple 4K@60 or three separate desktops on macOS should not rely on this SKU’s figures. [1][2]
