Full research notes and sources
Sensor and switches
The ROG AimPoint Pro is ASUS’s own optical sensor, rated at 42,000 dpi with 750 IPS and 50 G acceleration, and tests describe precision as excellent. DPI adjusts from 100 to 42,000 in 100-dpi steps in one test’s software, while another reports 50-dpi steps. Surface calibration, lift-off distance and angle snapping are adjustable through Armoury Crate or the browser-based Gear Link.
Battery life and polling
Battery life runs up to 127 h in 2.4 GHz with lighting off and 82 h with default lighting; Bluetooth stretches to 192 h off and 91 h on. Those figures are at 1,000 Hz. Reaching 8,000 Hz needs the separately sold ROG Polling Rate Booster, and one test table caps wireless polling at 4,000 Hz over 2.4 GHz even with the booster, versus 8,000 Hz wired. Bluetooth mode also showed perceptible latency in one test, so competitive play over Bluetooth is a poor fit.
Build, shape and upkeep
The 2 m ROG Paracord cable covers wired use, and the ROG Omni Receiver can serve multiple devices. Feet and grip tape are consumables and are not covered by warranty; switches can be replaced through the hot-swap sockets. No warranty duration for the US market was stated in the sources read.
No US retail price or MSRP appears on the manufacturer page. Review sites list Singapore prices of S$199 for the Origin against S$189 for the Keris II Ace, plus a European comparison near 136.99 EUR. The booster adds S$39 in Singapore. Where the Ace is available for less and includes the booster, it offers stronger out-of-box polling value; the Origin counters with switch replacement, 3-zone RGB and longer battery life. Value therefore depends on whether hot-swap switches and RGB matter more than out-of-box high polling. US pricing and long-term reliability remain unverified.
