Summary
An ultra-light right-handed wireless gaming mouse for competitive play, with a 42,000 DPI ROG AimPoint Pro sensor and 8,000 Hz wired / 4,000 Hz wireless polling. Check the polling setup before you buy: the included ROG Polling Rate Booster is required for anything above the 1,000 Hz default, and 8,000 Hz works only over USB.
Strengths
- 54 g full-shell shape keeps weight low without cutting out the body.
- Sensor tracks with perfect CPI accuracy in independent testing, with very low click latency.
- Polling reaches 8,000 Hz wired and 4,000 Hz wireless using the included booster.
- Multi-device Bluetooth pairing supports up to four devices.
- Replacement feet and grip tape are included in the box.
- Optical switches avoid physical double-click wear over time.
Weaknesses
- 8,000 Hz polling is wired-only; wireless tops out at 4,000 Hz.
- Higher polling rates need the booster and add under 100 microseconds of overhead.
- Optical switches feel duller and more muted than mechanical switches.
- Armoury Crate Gear is heavy and leaves files and services after uninstall.
- Default side grips are grooved plastic rather than rubber.
- No left-handed version is offered.

Full research notes and sources
Polling and sensor performance
The ROG AimPoint Pro sensor shows no CPI deviation at 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 CPI in TechPowerUp’s testing, with no smoothing across the range and very low SRAV. Click latency measures 0.3-0.4 ms wired and 0.5 ms wireless, with motion delay of roughly 1 ms wired and 1.5 ms wireless versus a Logitech G403 control. Polling stays stable across all rates, though 4,000 Hz wired runs about 3 ms behind that control. The 42,000 DPI ceiling is a sensor maximum; TechPowerUp observed major jitter at 21,000 CPI and massive jitter at 42,000 CPI, consistent with no smoothing.
Battery life
ASUS cites up to 107 hours in 2.4 GHz RF mode without lighting, and PCMag reports 67 hours with default lighting on. TechPowerUp observed the battery at 98% after 4 hours at 4,000 Hz and 94% after 6 more hours at 1,000 Hz, and considered at least 100 hours at 1,000 Hz and at least 30 hours at 4,000 Hz reasonable. The internal battery is 300 mAh (3.7 V) on a 3-pin JST connector, and charging starts near 0.3 A in a constant-current stage. ASUS does not specify battery life by polling rate.
Software and upkeep
Armoury Crate Gear requires a per-mouse installer and does not recognize connectivity changes without a restart; uninstalling it leaves files and services that need manual removal. Some functions do not work natively on macOS without first configuring the mouse on Windows. Routine upkeep is limited to cleaning and charging; no long-term owner reliability data was retrieved, and battery replacement availability and cost are undocumented.
Is it worth it?
MSRP: $159.00 (PCMag) / $159.99 (Tom’s Hardware, TechPowerUp). Retailer snapshots: Best Buy $122.99, Walmart $129.99, Newegg $159.99 (Tom’s Hardware); Walmart $124, Newegg $159 (PCMag). At roughly $123-130 the Keris II Ace is competitive with other high-end lightweight mice while offering 4,000/8,000 Hz polling, very low click latency, and strong sensor performance. At $159-160 it is a competent but pricey option against Logitech and Razer flagships, with software overhead as the main drawback. Above $160, value weakens unless the specific shape, weight, or included polling booster is required.
