Summary
A 16.1-inch portable IPS monitor with 2560×1440 resolution, 180Hz refresh rate over DisplayPort and AMD FreeSync, aimed at gamers and remote workers who need high-refresh portability. Check your cables before buying: video input is mini-HDMI, which tops out at 144Hz and needs adapters.
Strengths
- 180Hz over DisplayPort gives smooth motion for gaming and everyday scrolling.
- Brightness near 400 nits makes it usable in bright rooms and while travelling.
- 2.5K on 16.1 inches gives 182 ppi, so text stays sharp.
- Aluminum frame and a kickstand that folds flat make it easy to carry and position.
- USB-C Power Delivery lets the laptop charge while the monitor is in use.
- Owners regularly praise the sharpness, brightness and portability.
Weaknesses
- Video input is mini-HDMI, which is harder to find cables for and needs adapters.
- HDMI caps at 144Hz, so DisplayPort is the only way to reach 180Hz.
- Contrast is mediocre, so dark scenes look flat in a dark room.
- Color accuracy is average, with a warm cast and errors in blue and cyan.
- HDR10 buys almost nothing, and some owners report it darkens the image.
- The 2×1W speakers are barely usable, and the included sleeve gives thin protection.

Image quality and color
PCWorld measured brightness close to the claimed 400 nits, which is excellent for a portable panel and works well in bright rooms and shared offices. Color coverage came out at 99% sRGB, 78% DCI-P3 and 99% AdobeRGB, average to above average for an IPS portable monitor. Arzopa’s own page claims 107% sRGB.
Accuracy is the weaker half. PCWorld measured a color temperature of 6300K, slightly warmer than the 6500K target, with noticeable errors in the blue and cyan channels, giving the picture a slightly red or orange cast. Gamma measured a solid 2.2. Sharpness is the highlight: 182 ppi beats a 27-inch 1440p desktop monitor at around 110 ppi.
HDR10 is listed, but PCWorld measured little benefit and recommends running the monitor in SDR mode instead. The 1000:1 contrast ratio is typical for IPS and ranks at the bottom of portable monitor performance, which leaves dark scenes flat and dull.
Gaming performance and audio
Motion clarity is good in single-player and cooperative games thanks to the 180Hz mode, and FreeSync helps against tearing on compatible devices. The 9 ms response time is not ideal for competitive esports. PCWorld notes that OLED alternatives handle motion and contrast better, but often at lower refresh rates and higher prices.
Audio is the weakest part. The dual 1W speakers are consistently rated as barely adequate for podcasts and not usable for music or gaming audio. Owners recommend external speakers or headphones.
Portability, design and connectivity
At 780 g and 9.3 mm thick, the Z3FC slips into a backpack. The kickstand retracts flush with the rear panel and holds the screen in portrait or landscape, which owners list among the things they like most. The matte anti-glare coating cuts reflections in well-lit settings.
Two USB-C ports carry DisplayPort and Power Delivery, and pass-through charging keeps a laptop topped up. The included HDMI-to-mini-HDMI cable is short, and no power brick is included, so HDMI use needs your own USB-C adapter.
The sleeve has a velcro flap and works for carrying, but it has minimal padding. Several owners report screen damage even with the monitor in the sleeve when a bag gets compressed, and they recommend a hard-shell case instead.
Is it worth it?
Arzopa’s direct store listed the Grey variant at $139.99 against a $359.99 MSRP, and Tom’s Hardware called the Z3FC a “remarkable value in the portable monitor segment skewed towards a gamer audience.” Around $140–$149 you get 16.1 inches of 2.5K at 180Hz with 400 nits and FreeSync, which is hard to argue with.
PCWorld puts typical retail at $199.99 with an MSRP of $229.99 and calls that a bit more expensive than it should be. At $150–$180 the value is fair rather than strong, and above $180 established brands and OLED portables make more sense if image quality matters more than refresh rate.
Which model this is
This page covers the Arzopa Z3FC 16.1-inch 2.5K 180Hz portable gaming monitor with FreeSync. It is sold in several colorways, Grey being the primary listing, with the same specifications across variants and no documented mechanical revisions. Do not confuse it with the older Z1FC, a 144Hz model with different specifications.
