Apple iPhone 15 Pro: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-17

Summary

The iPhone 15 Pro is the compact titanium flagship of Apple’s 2023 Pro line, discontinued at Apple on September 9, 2024 but still supported with iOS updates until at least 2028. Its recurring weaknesses are battery life that trails the lineup, 20W-class charging with no adapter in the box, and a base 128GB tier that is tight for 48MP ProRAW and ProRes. Keeping it running costs little beyond a mid-life battery service and a separate charger; there are no user-serviceable parts.

Yearly running cost

Not enough data. The one-off costs are the charger, a rated cable and a case; battery service is a mid-life cost, not an annual one. No subscription attaches to the hardware itself. [1][2][3]

When it is a good buy

Swappa’s live October 15, 2026 used index puts the lowest iPhone 15 Pro listing at $433 and the average at $591, below the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s $443 low [16][29]. PCMag’s review page showed carrier stock at $599.99 from T-Mobile, and ZDNET listed renewed units from $683 [2][38]. Around $430-670 it is good value for a compact titanium Pro with at least five years of software support [16][29]. Above about $800 for new 128GB stock it is a weak buy against current Pro models [13].
